I also have a 60GB model, and mines YLOD many times in the past year. On mine, during a few of my repair attempt i got the same when i put it back together.

Try the following:-
1. Get another av cable and see if it makes a difference. Mine was shot last year
2. Open it up, check the connectors to all ribbon cables. The last time the heat gun stripped some copper of the tiny cable connecting the on/off switch board. And I got the same green light with black screen. I then used sand paper to expose some copper on the ribbon and it started to work afterwards.
3. Check the soldering of the port at the back, i messed mine up on a soldergun the third time i fixed the YLOD. So I used the heatgun to resolder it gently.

before you do then realise this invalidates any warranty you may have. If you are still intent on opening it up follow this.

this has just come from another thread in this forum and cannot remember who posted it but the work IS NOT MINE!!! Straight copy and paste.

Simple Fix,

First Download The System Recovery Files (Lv2diag.self )Find Them On Google They Are Out There.

Second Put The Lv2diag.self On The Root Of Your USB Drive + A Version Of The Current OFW You Was On.

Power Up PS3 And There You Go Just Hit System Restore Or Rebuild File Database

you seem to be suffering from the same thing.

How am I suppose to do this if nothing will pop up on the screen?

gotta try it blindly...

if the lights are coming on and you do hear the HDD it probably is the output is shot. but no hdmi, component, composite working is kind of odd, because usually if one does not work the other does so :/

The .selfs are usually used to bring the PS3 out of service mode or downgrade... bit risky.

Make sure you are doing recovery mode correctly too, just saying, I thought I was doing it right but I was NOT getting the double beep at the end.

If you have a jailbreak device to get the PS3 into service mode you can try that make sure you do your research though before going to far into it.

Good luck because if that does not work, you either send to Sony/3rd party repair or DIY
