ummm your wrong... yes you can burn your ps3 shoot it or whatever physical thing you want do to it, but you can not run any software you want, when you bought your ps3 you paid for the hardware so you own the hardware part there it's yours but the software is licensed by sony not sold meaning you can not touch it that's is why you agree to the end user license agreement that's why you can't make kernels on Windows or Mac, but linux is open source meaning you can do whatever the hell you want to the software, the ps3 is not open source so you can't run your own homebrew, but yea they did go a bit overboard with the lawsuits
Yes but what sony did was illegal, they took away other os, since one of the features with the ps3 was other os and it was advertised, them taking it away is called false advertisement which is
illegal, now lets compare sony with microsoft, what have microsoft done? they've banned thousands of people of xbl yet they sue no one, and they don't take any features that were advertised on the original xbox, this is because microsoft actually care about their customers, while sony on the other hand, take other os away, and sue almost every hacker. It's why the anon group are doing such things (hacking servers, etc) to teach sony not to p!ss off their customers, the people who actually made sony what they are today.
