however, Debug PS3's cannot do this as they will update to retail firmware.

They check for system updates through a different URL,

We can use this link to download Debug firmware, but i do not know the effect of Debug firmware being installed on Retail PS3. If you click on the debug link, it give you a link to download the Debug 3.60 firmware

Get a bunch of pirated games before you update. The games will still work after updating to 3.60
