Sony's Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media, has confirmed on the Playstation Blog that the downtime of Playstation Network earlier was due to hackers.
An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th.
Sony turned off PSN on Wednesday in Europe and the US. On Thursday they commented the service could be "down for days".

Sony was recently under attack by the hacker group Anonymous but those attacks stopped after user outrage.

That hackers can go so far into PSN that Sony sees no other choice than to shut it down completely certainly raises questions regarding security. Mind you: not only game-related information is stored on PSN, but also addresses and credit card info of millions of users is stored...

oh there will probably be many more excuses to come dont worry about that

possibly japan is the main psn server and scea america maintains it probably and changes the terms of service side of psn

i think japan has got more things to deal with than be bothered about the ps3 at this time

i think it would have to be sony in london or werever the uk headqauters are

i dnt think and well im prbably right in saying this

an american company/organisation cant make u agree to a law or tos that doesnt exist in our country

if piracy is such a big thing in this world

why do people sell

blank cd's and dvd's

knowing full well that we arnt goin to make just 1 backup copy of a cd/dvd

this world is stupid and becoming very corrupted very quickly

U ??? U HATE HACKERS ??? SO YOU TELLING ME YOU NEVER BEEN TO A HACKED LOBBY ?? OR ANYTHING ? PRESTIGE HACK ??? AND LOOK AT YOU TAG MAN ☆Skull Cracking Hacker☆

skull crcking >>> HACKER <<< CAN YOU SEE THAT ???

Your making yourself look like such a dumbass dude, Hacked lobbys is the false term. The real term is modded lobby, modding the game to use different scripts, is modding. Hacking the cod series, you would be hacking the cod engine and altering the way call of duty works.

Hacking and Modding, both have different meanings.

Modding is okay, because its your personal preference.

Hacking is cracking into a system engine and taking infomation and altering the primary factors of the game.
