Today (5/5/2011) they have posted another article regarding this issue, without saying if it will be on, on Friday or this "weekend" specifically. So expect it for the next week. The following quote shows that they still need a few more days to restore the PlayStation network.

"In the coming days, we will restore service to the networks and welcome you back to the fun. I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that we are committed to serving you to the very best of our ability, protecting your information better than ever, and getting you back to what you signed up for – all the games and great entertainment experiences that you expect from Sony."

But oh well, I think it is better to wait, until everything is completed rather than PSN going to maintenance after a week, or having our information stolen again, or have some failures, or hackers hacking PSN again. So think about all this things first before you say "**** Sony" or "I just want PSN back I don't care about security shitz!"

Sony better have psn up before the end of this week, I have assignments piling up and i wanna waste the weekend on gaming.

everybody just needs to chill. the psn got attacked and they are working on fixing it. they wont give an actual date cuz they arent sure when it will be finished. go out side or meet a girl or something and just chill till the psn gets back up

i agree with you! coming days sounds exactly to me how it sounds,,meaning in the next few days. Basically they have until this sunday to make good on their statements during the press conference at 1am saying "service will be up within the week"... we'll CCCCCCC
