A Sony spokesman told The Wall Street Journal on Saturday a full system reboot would take until the end of the month, and declined to say when the system would be back online.

"When making the May 1 announcement we were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system,” said Patrick Seybold, senior director of corporate communications, in a blog post on Friday.
Sony executives had said May 1 that they were aiming to get parts of the service back up within the week, but now they mention a full system reboot.
The biggest concern for gamers now is whether or not a full system reboot is going to be required. That would keep PSN down for weeks to come.
