I own 2 PS3s, one 60GB Phat, and one 360GB Slim.
The Phat got ylod once, but I fixed it by removing all the parts, wrapping the motherboard in foil, and cutting a hole onto the RSX and CPU so they could be seen, and chucked it in an oven for 150 degrees for 10 minutes.
Fixed my YLOD Smile

I've had a total of around 7 PS3's, my Slims have NEVER experienced YLOD, but my FAT model I have had to send back for a refurbished one around 4 times, refurbished get YLOD in around 1year IMO but if you buy it new it breaks within around 2-3years.
