I would imagine many of you already have some of these components, and won’t need this premium version and could expect a stripped down version of just the board for $50 which is not too bad, and still cheaper than a second PS3.

This IS the solderless one. By solderless they meant no solder WIRES. Its pretty simple to do it don't worry. Practice on something else a couple times (something you don't need) then do it on your slim. For phat you need solder wires.

yeah just to let you know this only does dual boot, does not do firmware downgrade. You need to already have a hardrive that has 3.55 firmware in order for this to work. And yes you will need to solder on the slim also.

you need to have a 3.55 hardrive already jailbroken. this does not reflash firmware to downgrade. E3 needs to clarify this.

E3 FLASHER = Biggest Ripoff ever.
1) Its Way to Expensive for what it is - You Can Buy a Second Playstation for near enough the price, even cheaper!
2) Dual Boot? ..Well if you bought a second playstation on 3.55 you could choose between 3.55 and 3.6+ easy for cheaper and for less hassle. i.e. Dual Booting.
Dont get me wrong E3 Flasher is a big break through Also Progskeet But when you weigh up the pro's and Cons It Dont really seem that much of a need :/

i think people that want to be able to upgrade their 3.55 ps3 and sync trophies or saves or play online/a 3.6+ game or w/e and then be able to downgrade it again would be getting it. also allows for theoretically fixing bricked ps3s with bad firmware on them. not to mention the devs that want to be able to play with their firmwares with less risk to having a useless ps3 after

As far as i know you will be able to use it for future firmware revisions too because it's a hardware mod and it would be really hard for sony to patch a flasher like this unless they got smart and implemented some kind of E fuse that would blow and render to console useless if it was reflashed with a lower firmware revision. (Which is highly unlikely that they will do so)
