(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay so yesterday I just got off my PS3 from playing MW2 and then I went back on later and BAM, the YLOD. So my brother tried cleaning it out and still never worked so he looked for people online that would fix it and today we found a guy in the same area as us. When my brother spoke to this guy, (he's an expert with PS3's) he said that the cause of the YLOD was MW2 because the processor of the PS3 cannot handle the game being on for too long. He said other CoD's can be left on like 2 days at a time. So by tomorrow I will have my PS3 back and my brother is also gonna buy cooling fans.

This is just a warning to you guys, do not play MW2 hours on end and leave it on overnight or whilst you aren't even playing it (like I did).

Retired, done with gaming
this is true mw2 does cause it, its not proven but it is proven that there has been more ps3 deaths when mw2 came out so use your brain on that one.
also 1 of my ps3s just got it and im pretty sure its just the power supply that overheated
so i bought a new one and also a intercooler.
if you guys want to try to avoid this and you play large amount of hours at a time i suggjest if u got a old ps3 and ur having unusal promblems buy a new powersupply and also a intercooler if your room is hot or your ps3 is cramped in areas but hoffally ill nvr face this a 3rd time :/

That sucks. A similar thing happened to me but instead of Mw2, WaW caused it lol.

My brother didn't want to pay sony £150 so we found a guy from ebay that would do it for £40.
And yes, I know any game can cause YLOD but MW2 can give you it quicker than other games.

Infamous.
Climbing up the ladder
Modern Warfare 2 has cost many PS3's this xmas. A more common incident is the disk read error. Its happend to me. But my PS3 never shown any signs of over heating. You dont know when it could strike. But I had just finished a TDM on Underpass and the Game just crashed so i turned it off by the switch and the back and when i turned it back on, the system wouldnt read ANY disks.
