So my brother tried cleaning it out and still never worked so he looked for people online that would fix it and today we found a guy in the same area as us. When my brother spoke to this guy, (he's an expert with PS3's) he said that the cause of the YLOD was MW2 because the processor of the PS3 cannot handle the game being on for too long. He said other CoD's can be left on like 2 days at a time. So by tomorrow I will have my PS3 back and my brother is also gonna buy cooling fans.

This is just a warning to you guys, do not play MW2 hours on end and leave it on overnight or whilst you aren't even playing it (like I did).

yeah I heard that COD W@W caused over heating too. I had the YLOD with W@W. I bought a slim and it seems to be okay so far w/ MW2. I have over 7 days playing time...

Lol, ylod with mw2 twice now. Total playing time 1 day 3 hours.

It's not the games that cause the YLoD...it's the environment that the PS3 is sitting in, and how it is sitting.

Yep; overheating and spillage of liquids into the vents are the top causes.
Don't be down though; I spilt water into mine by accidentally a while back, got YLOD and it went away in a day

Got ylod two days ago. MW2 was in, still in. PS3 80GB MGS4 bundle.

Any tips on how to get tha dam game out? (fan trick doesn't work)

this is a massive coinsiident as i got MW2 played it for heaps at a time and then i got the YLOD and my playstation has never been heated up too much or never had problems till this prick of a game came along

Really? I thought i had to open it and reflow the mobo... did you do it like this? has if failed ever since? how long do i have to blow it?
