I personally really hope so, the amount of account that people have used and then left accounts to go inactive is crazy, have you tried making a account for one of your friends? Its takes 20 minutes to even get a half decent name ( or a name choosen after your friend has become inpatient of trying), unless you want loads of numbers or extra characters before/after your chosen ID .

they should mate, more than likely or people with vitas will have to buy new memory cards and make new accounts PSN changed to SEn a while back our accounts arent just for playstation network now but sony entertainment network the whole lot.
