Pfft trust the media to hype it up like that, because when they say college student i initially thought 19-22 ish. Not 27. Besides "for playing video games" is a bit of a lie, he was caught for modding a console to play pirated games. The media officially suck.... well they dont, they're good at "hiding the truth". Anyways! Pretty stupid if you ask me, i have an idea lets go out and buy a video game like everyone else.. but no, he had to be different.

Theres my two cents and frankly i think ive had a good rant Happy

Sert
Al Capone, Jr.
Moved to Xbox 360 General section. I can't believe the punishment for the so-called "crime" committed in this case. Ridiculous.

Well this is different. This console modding, which can be considered a much bigger offense vs. Video Game modding that just requires plugging your HDD into your computer.

thats what i meant i have got my console modded but the law in the UK allows you to as long as you have got the original games

"You are LEGALLY ALLOWED to make a personal backup of any Original game as long as you are the owner of the Original game. However you MUST DESTROY any backups when you don't legally own the Original CD anymore (e.g. selling or giving it away). Before making a backup, check in the supplied manual or on the back of the CD box"

taken from a backup suppliers disclaimer

Pfft. In the UK you get to make back ups. In Soviet U.S. backups arrest YOU!
