A bit more info about your set up may resolve the problem
Are you in the US? Because this is currently the only region the hack will work for.
If you are, there's a couple of things you could mess with in PS3.proxy. In dezired's tut you should see that you have the url of the 1.3 patch in the left box and the location of the 1.2 patch on your PS3 in the right one. What you should do is make a copy of the url and place it in the box below (or click "add" if there is no box) then make a copy of the pkg file on your computer and put it in another directory. Now in the second right hand box, browse to your copied pkg.

This is where it gets more complex :p
To sign in on PS3 you have to change the url of the second 1.3 patch. To do this scroll to the end and you should see something like "productid?=0084". To sign in, remove the "84" from the product id. Start up CoD4 and it should ask for the patch update. Now try installing it- it hopefully should work.

It won't work for the UK at the moment because there is no link to a BLES00148 1.2 patch- which is the only one that will work. I know dezired posted a link for the "UK" 1.2 patch in the first post, but this is WRONG. It's a link to BLES00154 1.2 (which is France). So until a BLES00148 1.2 patch shows up, the UK is missing out
Oh and dezired, if you read this, take the link to the 1.2 UK patch down please, because it's not the right one

Which IP do I enter? The one of my computer or ps3? IF ps3, how do I get my ps3's local ip?

The one on your computer. I sometimes get that error if I close PS3.proxy without turning it off and then open it again. I usually just close the folder it's in and that sorts it...

I did enter my ps3 local ip.... 192.168.2.3 And I hit start and it gives me that error. Do I put the local ip or the external ip?
