While I was banned, I bought the PS3 version of it for my brother as a "christmas gift" (which was my excuse to get it for PS3).
Now I can tell you from personal experience, that the PS3 version of black ops is an absolutely shitty experience compared to Xbox. The reason I stress the word compared is because I don't really enjoy black ops now, even on xbox, and this is how I'm comparing the two consoles.
For starters, the PS3 version has a small lag it seems like, even if you're host. this is a result from the low frame rate on PS3. Even lowering your display settings from 1080p to 720p and playing locale only doesn't even help. I personally think that is sad that you have to lower the quality to barely fix a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place.
Secondly, the graphics on the PS3 version seem to be dull compared to xbox. There are also certain features that are not available on the PS3 version, like the ability to bring up a person's playercard while in-game. This is something that I use frequently on Live and it doesn't have it on PS3.
I got to around level 14 on PS3 doing nothing wrong, then I get on and treyarch gives me a message saying how my online rank is corrupted and restored to the last useable rank or some bullshit like that, and it put me back to level 10. It was sort of like a kick in the nuts, and now I really see no point in playing B.O. on PS3 now.
I also think that Treyarch's involvement by banning modders/hackers is annoying. just the small things like setting somebody back 4 levels is a pointless thing for them to do and deters people from playing their game. I just wish they were less involved and only patched gamebreaking things such as god mode glitches or things that actually affect gameplay online, not things such as prestige hacks/gold gun/CT exploits.

Yeah man, I have black ops for both systems as well. You are not kidding that Treyarch really really slacked off on the PS3 version of the game. My friends all say they don't notice it, but if you are playing fairly smoothly on the 360 and go on the PS3, you will notice some choppy movements multiple times a game. Despite what people think on this forum, the 360 is a superior gaming console.
As for Treyarch being annoying for banning/moderating, I have to disagree. I love that they can back up what they are saying. Sure, people will be saying "I'm 15th prestige and haven't been banned", at least they can cause fear in the hacking/glitching community.

Well here is why the PS3 version looks like shit.
1) Game runs at an avg of 45 FPS instead of 60.
2) Game is native at 540p instead of 600p. (1040x608 for xbox 360 and 960x544 for PS3)
3) Treyarch can't code on PS3, thinks they can. Previous games were equal. This one isn't. Obviously, Treyarch is the problem here.
I hope you 360 users see why we have been bitching since day one. Treyarch is shit. It took them 300+ employees to create this game. And it is absolute shit (on the PS3). IW created a better game (IMO/On the PS3) with only 100 members.

Yeah, When I try to tell my friends on PS3 about the video problems, they don't even notice because they've had to adapt to it which I feel sorry for, since when you play on XBOX it runs smoothly all of the time.
And I do agree with the banning, I mean I like how they aren't blowing us off and counting the cash that they've made. But I mean it feels like they are really looking through everything with a fined-tooth comb. If anybody does anything that even in the very slightest has to do with cheating, or being offensive they ban them.
And their bans are completely unfair. I modded up from 3rd prestige 12 to 44 and they caught and banned me. They completely reset me back to 0 P. Lvl 1. Like why not just set me to at least 3rd Lvl 1? and when they banned me it said it expired in 48 hours, then I get on 2 days later to see that I still have 45 hours remaining on my ban. It like re-started which sorta pissed me off.

They banned my 15th prestige account for 48 hours, then for 72 hours, and then for another 48 hours. lol They were being dicks.

Exactly, that's what I don't understand. I honestly have lost interest in black ops because of this. The game is already dead to me, because what's the point in leveling, to have one slip up, or do one glitch and get completely f*cked over for it, reset, and given extra ban time length not even being told about it?

Anyway
Yeah the framerate can have issues at times most of the time it stable at about 40 or so.
Graphics looking dull due to how the engine works with the PS3 hardware.
Tbh PS3 engine needed to be redone after adding all the stuff into MP. To deal with the fact you added alot more to cope with and taken a hit on the looks a bit.
I don't blame trey for doing the way they did to get the game out with all the stuff.

They made the PS3 version of BO shitter than the 360 on purpose how else can you explain the fact that ps3 BO is missing all of these fitures that 360 has there is no reason as the why the ps3 version can't i believe treyarch loves the money they get from Microsoft and sabotages Sony Bullshit is what it is. I paid $60 just like every 360 owner did why do i get the shitter game?
