i was prestige 8 level 24 from lan glitch. than it wasent sticking for me anymore no matter what i tried... so i thought id do the CT prestige hack with 1.0.2 patch. i was almost there got tired went to bed and woke up to it being patched. silly me i logged off the old playlist to get onto the new ones so i could continue the CT prestige hack but it was patched... uh oh.. so now iam reset because i ran the patch blocker im prestige 0 level 1. so i said what the hell no point in playing online (servers suck) so iall try the lan glitch again.
i started from prestige 0 level one. maxed out at 50 than i prestiged maxed out one more time than prestiged. so im prestige 2 (those two guns) when i started my online match my controller(guest) was on the same team so i quit to start match again but it frooze. i turned it back on when i went online it said file save data corrupt like it alwqays does and it put me prestige 0 maxed out at 50. so the lan glitch still works
i just did the lan glitch played till i was 50 maxed out. than just ended game no silly planting and defusing bombs and it worked. ive tried so many different things with this glitch and its crazy! i get three ps3's so its threevsthree killing three people to max out 50 takes me about 32-38 mins per prestige.

I'd appreciate permission from a mod/admin to make a thread about this due to the FACT that it is not a theory, it is a proven working method. I have around 5 people who'll confirm it works perfectly.
This is for PS3 only!
Hey guys I found this glitch around 10 minutes ago whilst trying to do the gold gun glitch on the 1.02 patch(Sadly I didn't succeed). But I managed to find a good glitch in the process. So here's my tutorial .
Requirements:
A USB stick.
Geohots CFW/Blackbox FileManager.
A brain.
2 PS3 controllers.
NOTE: I recommend you use a new account for this as your stats get reset at first!
First things first you need to be on the 1.02 Black Ops patch with the 1.05 server. For any of you who don't know how to do this here's a quick tutorial:
1. Your going to need to download the patch co-responding to your Black Ops BLES/BLUS ID. Here are the different files.

NOTE: If anyone could send me a link to any 1.02 patches I'm missing I'd be very grateful.
2. Open up your FTP server on your PC and copy the t5mp_ps3f.self to your desktop.
(It's located in hdd0>game>BLES01031>USRDIR. Obviously it varies depending on your BLES/BLUS)
3. Delete the 1.05 Black Ops patch from your saved data utility.
4. Copy the patch you downloaded earlier on to your USB stick. Now install the .PKG onto your PS3. Then open your FTP server back up and copy the t5mp_ps3f.self back to where you got it from. Overwrite the existing one.
5. Run EliteMossy's Patch Blocker which can be found here:

INSTRUCTIONS:
Run the PatchBlocker.exe.
Go to network settings on your PS3 > Internet connection settings > Custom.
Go through it all as usual but once you reach proxy server input the IP address it outputs on the patchblocker. (E.G. 192.168.0.5)
Save the settings.
Run the patchblocker and sign in.
If you sign in successfully you have done this correctly.
6. After you've got the patch blocker running and your network settings done load up Black Ops.
7. When your on the Multiplayer menu you should see these digits in the top right hand corner of your screen: 53.0.0.0.
(Once you go into an online party it will be more along the lines of 53.37.47.6) This means you've done it correctly. After clicking play online you should've received a reset message. DW about it xD.
NOTE: Do not turn your PS3 off or quit the game during the following steps or you'll be reset to rank 1!
8. Go to LAN party with both your controllers connected. Set up the custom game as you please. I recommend the following settings for maximum XP in shortest time.
SETUP:
Nuketown. Search & Destroy. Unlimited time. Unlimited lives. Headshots only ENABLED. Killcams DISABLED. Health miniscule.
9. After setting up your game go to your friends list. Hit join session on a friend who's in an online match(IMPORTANT - Wont work if in a party). Whilst the "joining session" is loading hit back until your at the main menu. You should get a unable to join/session's full error.
10. Now go back to your custom LAN game and you should still see a little star next to Search & Destroy(if so you did it correctly).
NOTE: Do not select your custom classes or you'll be kicked from the game. Only use the classes they give you! Also it may take a few tries to get you and your 2nd player on different teams!
11. Start the game and repeatedly kill your 2nd player by headshots.
1000xp a kill

12. Win the game by planting/defusing the bomb.
13. Go to online and prestige(You should be rank 50).
14. Repeat steps 8-13 until you reach your desired prestige..
15. Once you've reached your desired rank/prestige go ahead and return to the main menu then back to an online party. You'll be pleased to see nothing has been reset. Congratulations!

this worked for me. i was able to level up and turn off ps3 and turn back on and continue as long as you keep the 1.02 and start patchblocker again if needed. thanks corey

Possibly a helpful or influencing bit of into... using this method when you reach 50 you have about +200,000 cod points works a hundred% just takes a LONG time to do but im still going at it right now and its working nice find bro

That method did not work. Took me a lil to get my ps3 to cfw followed alll the steps and overwritting the file. Finally got to lvl 50 backed out prestiged n I was on lvl 1 on first prestige. Least that part worked because with the new hotfix after every round in snd ur level gets reset so I thought it was going to work. I went back to main menu then to multiplayer then player match to go back where I finally started
