Post: How I got type 1 NAT from type 2 NAT [PS3] [MAYBE XBOX]
12-20-2010, 06:11 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I tried like 50 different tutorials and some of them were so hard that they seriously wanted me to reprogram my router or similar shit like that (You can 'WTF?!' now).

And now, after 3 Call of Duty games (4, 5 & 6) I found this tutorial so easy that I ROFL'Awesome face first and didn't believe it.

Here are the steps (PS3):

1. Go to your system's settings and find "System information".
2. There's an ip-adress right there, write it up.
3. Go to your modem's/router's settings and find a setting where it says 'Awesome faceMZ' (DeMilitarizedZone) somewhere.
4. Input the IP you wrote-up.
5. Save settings ... TWICE.
6. Restart modem with current settings.
7. Restart PS3.
8. ????
9. PROFIT!

Note:
It didn't show TYPE 1 at first for me, but I played like 2 or 3 games and after those I was the host on nearly every game Happy

Then I checked my NAT-type and it was 1 n.n

P.S
I don't bother explaining ie. how to get to your modem/router's settings ... find out on your own or something.

I see that you are lazy but you know you could just block his IP's. It's better than setting a password.

I blocked my other neighbor's MAC-address this one day ... I bet that one pirated stuff 24/7.

Master of teh internetz
Type 3 = Incorrectly set up

Type 2 = Correctly set up through a wireless router

Type 1 = Correctly set up directly into the internet

Something like that, it has nothing to do with Moderate, Strict and Open, because I can get Open with a Type 3 NAT. It's just having Type 1 or 2 makes it easier to find games and host games...

The following 2 users say thank you to Dylan_Owns for this useful post:

type 1 & 2 are the same 2 just means your connected through a router so it doesn't make a difference going from 2-1

When you say Restart Modem, do you mean I should hold the restart button on the back of it, or just unplug it and replug it

There's restart-button @ the setting-page of the modem.
Don't mess it up with reset-button on back of the modem Gobble
