im pretty sure how i understood it was tht IW is owed by Activision, but like it said also, they have the rights to the cod franchise... think thts right lol

Activision has the rights to the COD franchise. IW & treyarch are subsidaries of Activision, basically owned by Activision Blizzard.

You can review the recent 10k report posted by ATVI and see all 85 or so companies ATVI owns.

It IS IW's fault mw2 is a crap game, THEY REFUSED a huge bonus budget offered by Activision and threw it back in activisions faces because IW got over confident over the success and hype gain from early MW2 released info

everything after that is Completely IW's fault time and time again they chose to release the game on time instead of taking the record breaking amount of extra money and polish the game and add even more things to MW2

Because of there over confidense/ego mw2 turned out to be a flop noob fest, just take a moment to reflect how much 10+ million budget could have accomplished


NOTE, alot of the reports say it was an industry record breaking amount of money, the reason why i came up with that, is if those rumour are to be believed, MGS2 had a devlopement budget of 11 million

IMO thats why they have updates. If it was indeed rushed and released unbalanced or unfinished, IW has have months to release updates fixing their errors and/or unaccomplishments. Although I agree it may not be all IW's fault the fact is they have had plenty of time to correct the things they knew were wrong.

activision didnt rush them, activision was willing to give IW a extension, it was IW's chioce to stick to the deadline, said ages ago in an interview with bowlhead himself

Honestly I'm not sure how the split works. I would assume the parent company gets the majority of the profit. Those specifics would be in the contract to develop the game. Obviously there are issues and disputes of this between the two companies. Keep in mind that IW runs and operates seperately. That's what a subsidiary is... a seperate company from the parent company however the parent company owns at least 51% of the subsidiary. hopefully that makes sense.
