I can't imagine that IW have not been paid... They have to have income for operating expenses. I doubt that they have not been paid. They may not have been paid the larger portion of the contract. Those details will probably not be released. If they are released I'd be skeptical on the source.

as far as i would see it, all the money goes to Activision, IW is a company owned by Activision, Activision is the 1 who pays all the bills and signs all the pay checks to IW employees, Activision does however give IW a % out the sales to pay for the next game, it was the same for CoD4-MW2

Merchandise sales profits does all go to Activision though, for the simple fact that Call of Duty Franchise is owned by Activision
