Well... Geohot, apeartly released the new hacks for the PS3 - as long as I know - he sad he could do ANY THING with the PS3. Well... What about if we are able to download the actual Infinity Ward Update into our Computer, and back into our Ps3? Well - thats when another idea hitted me! PS3 SHARING! Which is, the sharing of two Ps3s, witch you send ALL of the PS3 files into your new PS3. What about, if we are able to TRANSFER the DLC, or PATCH into our computer and edit hex, for: GodMode - Golden Desert, and a lot more... Well - I been working on it for couple of days, I called it "MadSharing". I have contact GeoHot, trhough his YouTube channel and I am waiting for response - when I get I will start gathering some COD4 hackers and so, and see if we are able to pull this one!

Find out where the download is coming from, and then setup a forward on your router so that the IW download actually comes from a download on your localhost, therefore the patch would be downloading from your computer (or wherever you were hosting it) instead from IW.

Think of the hosts files on your computer, for example.



Even though I am for thinking of ideas; some of the ideas in this thread are flawed. It's almost sort of thinking of an idea to brainstorm for a new way to create water, but there's no where to possibly go with your ideas. The PS3 is equivalent to a computer, with a few exceptions. The hardware is all similar; so do yourself a favor and please do not say stuff like this.

I respect that you are doing everything you can to research on an issue like this and to contribute to "hacking"; I however do not respect the will to keep pipedreaming and making irrational claims.

You seem intelligent, anyway this would count as running unsigned code. The patch has a ???bit checksum, and if anything is changed it will automatically corrupt. Thus unsigned code needs to be able to run in order for this idea to work.

Go read my edit; I know a lot of things won't work as stated in this thread, I was only suggesting the idea towards that question. However; you are 100% correct; simply changing the version# of an old patch will not make the checksums of the new patch match.

Custom firmware would need to be implemented.

First of all. Thanks for not being an ass. Second... I meant to point out that even tought a PS3 is a computer, it is not an computer the other ass, works with (I doubt) - I never meant to say a Ps3 was NOT a Computer, but more likely not a very known piece of equipment. We know few, of the PS3 - why not go out and find some?
