One problem, to modify your .PKG you have to decrypt then re-encrypt it. To do that you need the full PS3 SDK, which you can't get. The only way to get it is via a 3rd Party developer, and I'm 100% sure you don't know one.

Until someone makes a tool to decrypt and re-encrypt it, this idea is pointless.

I think GeoHot had something to do with this personally. After all once Sony got rid of OtherOS, he kind of declared war on Sony. Mentioning something about how his goal was not to bring piracy with his hack... but since Sony did what they did, he would make that his sole mission.

And this Jailbreak thing is the bane essence to PS3 game piracy... and is what Sony feared most all along. Not to mention possibility of homebrew.

Zo my goodness, if this thing really works, and its confirmed by someone here (to run back up games if just that) I'm buying it IMMEDIATELY. The funny thing is the parts to build this thing cost about $5-10....lol. Wouldn't know how to flash it though. These guys are makin' bank!

Hmm, well hopefully somebody designs some homebrew to block such information from making it to Sony over the PSN.

Or they could just easily give it the game id of another common game such mw2 :whistle:
