If anyone read my thread about ISO modding well, when I discovered details about the ISOs I came across the default_mp.xex in my 360 MW2 ISO. And Well here is a picture.

***In the above picture you will find the default_mp.xex file. Which on the PS3 is the .self***
The reason why most people can't run modded patches is because the default_mp acts as a secondary fail safe system. It
1) Checks to see if the patch hasn't been edited. Then runs it.
Or
2)It checks it if its an incorrect/modded patch it will give a syntax error.
Before anyone post anything please read other threads, and don't flame. And this is not a theory, since the .xex had to be patched/modded on the 360.

We are on the brink of getting these hacks. If we work hard enough we will eventually get it.

This is from Xbox-Scene and credits go to Provenance.
"This tool will patch your default_mp.xex to remove security checks, allowing you to play modifications of the multiplayer .ff files. This tool is written to work with the initial version of the title from the disk, and WILL NOT connect to Xbox Live nor is it meant to."
The above clarifies further more of what the default_mp does. Even though the file extension is xex it still applies to .self
***More Info***
I just discovered that the default_mp.self tells the EBOOT.BIN what to execute. Every game has a default.self and a default_mp.self. So basically the file is telling the EBOOT to give us a syntax error. If you find out more please post a reply.

but you don't see what im saying lol. me and brendan are working hard on this. yeh it might not seem like it since im on here a fair bit but thats because its night now.
why would we give hints on our hard work when nothing has been done for us here? we have got flamed in the past and a bit of rep... but really what is rep worth? nothing it just shows people liked a post/posts.
that is what unkn0wn is trying to get to everyone. you cant always have everything the easier way. he worked hard on this exploit and has stated many times that if some1 cracks it they can release if they decide to. but you will notice how much time/money etc. you put into the hack and go. "hey do these people deserve to skip research time and have it easy when i had to do it?" no.
he has released enough hints for me and brendan to get on the right track and believe me if those hints arent enough then this hack is to complex for you. whoever said "easier than prestige hack" rumor is complete BS!!!.... it takes time/dedication and logic to get on the right track... and im starting to see none of that from people here... they just demand more hints and a tut from unkn0wn... and thats not fair....

I never flame, cause first of all: it's gay to be calling someone names on a online forum, come & say stuff like that in my face & I doubt you'll get(out of my) home without any scratches & bruises..
I know what it's like to be working hard for something !
I spent an entire year creating this STUPID accountancy program, & in the end, teacher said i put 2 much time & effort in it.. /facepalm so trust me, I know what hard work is.. I've been programming for the last 3 years, I had quite a few projects, but I've only got my ps3 for a year (was first playstation I ever owned) & never thought of hacking it/games it runs.. so newb when it comes to hacking PS3
& okay, you don't have to give any hints.. I understand what you mean/how you feel, but at least, if you make any progress, tell us..
not how you did it, but just the simple fact u did it.. & if u don't want to post it, just let me know via PM
