(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); :madGaspk guys just thought i would warn u about this coz it has happend to me and about 700 other people that i know about anyways. it seems that the last update for modern warfare 2 will cause your playstation to get the dreaded yellow light of death (YLOD) it happen me just yesterday wen i was playin a tdm in mw2. this problem is fixable by yourself but NOT recommened and im not gona mess around with the inside of my ps3 and lose the warranty. iv rang sony up and they wont repair it but they will send me out a "repaired" old model that they fixed and i have to pay £130 and send in my ps3. which i wont pay as i already forked out enough money on the ps3 and they expect me to pay more for used unit and because of a problem that i didnt cause is bullshit

heads up if u play mw2 dont play for more than 2hours at a time give ur ps3 time to cool down
u can "clean out" ur ps3 urself bye turing it off at the back, holding down on the eject and turing it back on.

thax 4 reading this and taking d time

plz comment espically if this has happend to you aswell.

rep up if i helpedWinky Winky

Well I've played for 12 hours straight, then left it on overnight, then played as much the next day(got inFamous and was beginning of school holidays) - then got no problems at all. Obviously you guys aren't giving them proper ventilation.

Totally agree there. I've played MW2 non-stop for roughly 12 hours in a day and left it running for another 3 ish and had no problems what so ever. I keep mine behind a plasma TV (Huge heat output) but about 2 ft between the tv and the wall in that gap. It wasn't hot at all after that day so I never worry about overheating.

Key point: Let you're PS3 breathe and you should be fine. ^^

This thread is about MW2 causing the YLOD. Not inFAMOUS. But go to the PS3 section and check out the sticky, "How to take care of your PS3"

I actually seen alot of this happen.
It's because the game file is so big that the ps3 has to work a little harder.
Same thing happened to alot of ppl while playing MW (happened to me like 4 times LOL).
But you just have to properly vent your system like alot of other ppl have said.
If your ps3 has room to breath then it will cool down.

Its because the game doesnt install on the PS3. The drive is constantly working during gameplay. You can hear it going while playing. More work = wear and tear....on anything.
