(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); :madk guys just thought i would warn u about this coz it has happend to me and about 700 other people that i know about anyways. it seems that the last update for modern warfare 2 will cause your playstation to get the dreaded yellow light of death (YLOD) it happen me just yesterday wen i was playin a tdm in mw2. this problem is fixable by yourself but NOT recommened and im not gona mess around with the inside of my ps3 and lose the warranty. iv rang sony up and they wont repair it but they will send me out a "repaired" old model that they fixed and i have to pay £130 and send in my ps3. which i wont pay as i already forked out enough money on the ps3 and they expect me to pay more for used unit and because of a problem that i didnt cause is bullshit


heads up if u play mw2 dont play for more than 2hours at a time give ur ps3 time to cool down
u can "clean out" ur ps3 urself bye turing it off at the back, holding down on the eject and turing it back on.

dude i have 1st ps3 that came out and after update i got the YLOD too but then it went away!

no hes tellin truth, sice my friends and i have started playin 3 out of 6 or 7 of us have had the ylod i got my new slim though so idcc

I play mw2 about 5 hours a day non stop on my 60 gb launch model. Works like a charm.

it messed up my blu-ray drive. it wont load my game after the update.

I don't know if COD MM2 did it but I got the YLOD on my PS3 80 with backward capability while play COD MM2. I kept my system clean, I cleaned it once a week. My system got the YLOD while playing COD MM2 for only 2 hours. I had a Walmart extended warranty and I'm just waiting to get my baby back. I hope I get the same system back I don't want a new one.

Well damn, actually my xbox just died 2 days ago from over heating the video output. There was sound but nothing on the screen. And from what i've read ALOT of ppl. have had this happen since the last update. And it happened to break when my wife was playing MW2 that's interesting. Mine was made march 2006 i had one of the first 360's never had a problem with it either, i just took it as being one of the first 360's finally going bad. I rented a copy of MW2 for the PS3 for the wife while i sent the xbox in for repair thanks for the advice.
