Post: 15 kills too much for EMP?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I dont see why EMPs require so many kills; there not much more effective then a counter uav. if anything The affect on red dots might even be an advantage to the enemy; I kinda like my holographic sight with a clear window, the affect it has on screen? who cares, that little static doesn't do anything. I think they should make it a lot longer to justify the high streak, Half of the other streaks like Ac 130s and harriers devastate the game much more and require much less then 15 kills. EMPs to me are def a waste of a streak.

They should make guns jam,or something; being the streak next to the nuke which ends a game should really be devastating

it would be awesome if IW got relly creative and made EMPs affect the players controls like do a random button remap to confuse the team, things like this would def encourage make me use it and are fair for requiring 15 kills.

The EMP is a very powerful weapon, that's why. Think about all it does. Every single electronic device you have is knocked out. Red dot sights, holographic sights, heartbeat monitorsm, and I believe if you're using a thermal scope it gets knocked out as well. Not to mention any aircraft will crash, and you can't call any in during the affected time of an EMP.


In short, you're crippling you're opponent by not allowing them to use any modern technology. All they have to rely on are the iron sights on guns, and grenades. Even claymores are disabled.

Right but I dont think it even lasts a minute, The small dot on the electronic sights arent needed to aim. If youre letting the enemy get 15 kill streaks I dont think a minute with out thermal is gonna make it much worse. The effect of EMP is pretty cool but 15 kills for about a min is ridiculous and useless.

it does a lot more than remove the red dot. as others have mentioned, kill streaks are disabled, ammo/equipment read outs disappear, map disappears, etc.

we all know what it does but the discusssion is whether 15 kills justifys the minute or so its effective, dumbass.

It's not just about the dot sights...and yes, it is a bit harder to aim with them. Not that much, but if you're in one of those "eye-to-eye" confrontations, and it goes to whoever can get the better aim and fire quicker, the guy with the sights is going win almost every time. As others have said, maps disappears, all your hud info...think about that. You can't even tell where your teammates are on the map, except maybe when they die and you see that little skull. In fact, do you even see those skulls when the EMP goes off? I haven't noticed. You really have nothing to rely on. What about mics, do they still work? I think they do, but that's about it maybe.


It's a very disabling weapon, and killing confused enemies is much much easier then killing coordinated ones.

I agree 100%, In theory The effect is devastating but In practice it fails to justify 15 kills. If you're getting 15 kill streaks the opposing team are probably goners anyway; how many of their AC 130s could you be stopping. With it only lasting a minute theres not going to be much close quarters anyway; they'll just hang back until its over.

I say something like 10-12 kills seems appropriate. Or make it a little longer 2 minutes would be good.
