They're usually preforming below the average skill level of a CoD player, but eventually something happens and all of a sudden-in a period of time-they get better.

My question is, what's that spark that led to the ignition of a new, better, and skilled player? And just how bad were you when you started CoD?

I remember in CoD4, all I did was hip fire. P90 with double tap and silencer, mp5 with red dot. You name it. I hip fired with almost every weapon. I was a blind bat and never took flanks; I always rushed straight in.

Of course, time did its job and I eventually got used to the scheme. A friend of mine also helped me learn on how to be aware. Expect where the enemy is, and what they're thinking. That way it can be used to your advantage to get the first strike or to trick them.

I started out in CoD4 with a 10th prestiged, 1.2 KDR and below 1.00 win ratio. Now I've bumped it up to an easy 2.00+ KDR, and a 4+ win ratio. Smile

In Flames Much?
I started out on CSS
Different game to COD. Started on MW2.......i was meh about COD4 (On release) i wish i got it sooner.
Anywho K.D on MW2 0.7
Black ops 1.25
MW3 is 0.89

I very quickly learned that my playstyle did not work within COD and i had to camp more. Watch the radar and abuse the map design. Saying that i got MW2 late compared to everybody else and went to YT for tips. Helping learn the map etc

Compared to other shooters i played it was far easier to die and faster pace. Remember in MW2 i used to drop shot people but quickly found the knife better.
I remember at first thinking why don't people jump on flags etc but quickly worked out the game goes against it.
I like to think i got better COD i understand what i did wrong now Smile

I got really good at CoD4 by playing campaign haha. I didnt have good enough internet at the time so i couldnt play online. I always thought i was good cuss i would just murder my friends on split screen. When we finally got faster internet, my KDR was usually above 1.25.

Oh and you say everyone gets good, some kids start out terrible, and end up bad... Still with .58 k/d after plaaying for 3 years.

After that I started playing some CoD 4 and well since I knew how to aim it wasn't that difficult but I was still a noob
Its cool though every1 gets better troughout time

Knowing the maps. Knowing your weapons and knowing your enemy... This is what made me better.

I used to play Socom II on the ps2 so when i entered cod4 i was thinking lets play as a team but no one really had a mic so that went out the window. I then started rushing even more playing objectivly especially HQ just capturing the HQ and then running off killing. Since that i went to rushing, drop shotting and in black ops introduced jump shotting so over all I AM A TANK! now XD

My first CoD was W@W, I wasn't amazing but I was decent because I had played it before at friends houses when I didn't have a PS3, I think the reason I became good was from finding youtube commentators in MW2 and starting to watch their tips and advice.
