They're usually preforming below the average skill level of a CoD player, but eventually something happens and all of a sudden-in a period of time-they get better.

My question is, what's that spark that led to the ignition of a new, better, and skilled player? And just how bad were you when you started CoD?

I remember in CoD4, all I did was hip fire. P90 with double tap and silencer, mp5 with red dot. You name it. I hip fired with almost every weapon. I was a blind bat and never took flanks; I always rushed straight in.

Of course, time did its job and I eventually got used to the scheme. A friend of mine also helped me learn on how to be aware. Expect where the enemy is, and what they're thinking. That way it can be used to your advantage to get the first strike or to trick them.

I started out in CoD4 with a 10th prestiged, 1.2 KDR and below 1.00 win ratio. Now I've bumped it up to an easy 2.00+ KDR, and a 4+ win ratio.

First CoD game was Mw2...... Finished campaign on recruit and died a lot. Started Multi with a 0.2 ratio... :0 lol Then just started partying with my friends every time and we'd play SnD or Demo. Learn how spawns work, what guns to use, and how to rush...Mw2 days, I barely played a game by myself. I was always partying. When BO came out, I stayed with Mw2 and just raped in ffa. I'd say that,s how I got better and yeah.

I started playing during CoD4. I sucked in CoD4 lol... But when Mw2 came out, my friends would always go like 50-2 and id be 20-31 and id just be wow... I actually started getting good like 3 months after Mw2 came out. I learned how to spawn trap, after that, i new which perks were the best for me and which gun did the most damage. And ever since then, ive maintained a 3.00 KD in Mw2, BO, and Mw3.

Not trolling by this comment or anything but honestly I'd have to sat Counter Strike. Coming into COD with a fps background gave me a fairly decent jumpstart. I had good reflexes, could sound whore, and play objectively. Bringing that knowledge/skill over to COD allowed me to start off being decent in my first COD. I started off with a 1.7 or 1.8 kd in W@W, then bumped up to a 2 something kd in MW2 hit 3 some in Black ops (spawn trapping demo ftw) and have a 2 some in MW3 (could raise it up but I am honestly tired of the game, I'd rather play Infected, it reminds me of zombies on CS:S)

Used to run 1.2ish k/d early black ops. Then I learnt the maps, got more accurate, and started using silenced assault with ghost and following spawns around the map. Same deal on Mw3, silenced assault, assassin, blind eye, follow spawns and run a 3.5 K/D like a god damn mother farking Boss. You can't go 47-1 TDM rushing with a UMP45. Silenced MK4 and Assasin, and it's all too easy.

MW2 was my first ever FPS and I was really really bad. Getting no kills or only knife kills lol. It was sad but my friend told me the game was going to be epic so I got it. I was addicted and played soooo much. Eventually I just started getting better. I feel I reached a higher level on BO when I started to look at youtube videos and my k/d skyrocketed. Thats when I decided to start a youtube channel. I now play to be good and to have fun, I feel like if you wanted to just post a great k/d you could use the easiest setup the game has to offer, but I like to challenge myself so I rush and no longer use assassin and still hold a 2 k/d

In CoD4 I was bad(as far as kills wise; I was #12 in wins before hackers). When i played, I did not care about how good my K/D was when I played matches. CoD world at war was when I really got good because I played with alot of top people after I joined the MONK clan.
