They're usually preforming below the average skill level of a CoD player, but eventually something happens and all of a sudden-in a period of time-they get better.

My question is, what's that spark that led to the ignition of a new, better, and skilled player? And just how bad were you when you started CoD?

I remember in CoD4, all I did was hip fire. P90 with double tap and silencer, mp5 with red dot. You name it. I hip fired with almost every weapon. I was a blind bat and never took flanks; I always rushed straight in.

Of course, time did its job and I eventually got used to the scheme. A friend of mine also helped me learn on how to be aware. Expect where the enemy is, and what they're thinking. That way it can be used to your advantage to get the first strike or to trick them.

I started out in CoD4 with a 10th prestiged, 1.2 KDR and below 1.00 win ratio. Now I've bumped it up to an easy 2.00+ KDR, and a 4+ win ratio. Smile

I started as the little kid on cod4 (think I was 11 or 12). Had a k/d of like 0.7 and a win of like 0.6, was 4th prestige though.
Then W@W came and that was when i started getting better, like a 1.5 k/d and a 1.0 W/L, 9th prestige. Started to GB on this game too but was just ok.
Mw2 was when I got good. I was a pubstar, with like a 1.5 W/L and 2.0 K/D. This also was my best game for gbing on.
Black Ops I got even better, but my stats were about the same as Mw2.
Now on Mw3 Im a beast with like a 2.3 k/d and a 3 W/L ratio, still GBing too.

Soo i went from terrible too great.

Cake is a lie
Had a 1.10 k/d at the end of MW2 and below 1 w/l. It was my first full COD experience after dabbling in COD4 and W@W. I started out as a scared dude hiding and using HB Sensor. The amount of killstreaks and people noobtubing was overwhelming.

Then I started to become what a vast majority of the COD community is: a bad rusher. I'd run around wrecklessly with terrible aim,id run into buildings blindly. I had terrible accuracy. I used UAV,Care Package,Pred like a noob.

After watching others play, I learned to raise my sensitivity. I picked up the Tar, Mini Uzi and M16 and got better. I learned to rush cautiously and to rush with a purpose.

Black Ops, I applied the same ideas, got a party and ended that game 1.75 k/4 with 1.6 w/l

Now on MW3 2.15 k/d with 2.02 w/l. The competitor in me wanted to get better and counter cheap ish instead of crying about it.

I started on MW2, I was pretty bad, but I played on Split screen with some friends to get used to the controls and such. When I first played split screen, I always got lost. I didn't know which way I came in and how to get in. Then eventually I got used to the maps and guns and one day, I started playing much better consistently every game.

Then, I watched some NGT videos to help me improve my skills further, and watched SpiderBite's Rush Series. I decided to rush and loved it, I owned. The fact that the enemies don't expect you to be at their spawn in 10 seconds and get taken out from behind was a little funny actually, or don't expect the bomb to be planted within the first few seconds of a game.

So yeah, I started rushing and that really made me the player I am today.

Of course, I bought COD4 and W@W after loving MW2 (and still do to this day).

MW2 is the second best COD game despite its problems. Top three are COD4, MW2 then W@W in my opinion. Black Ops sucks and MW3 still has its huge problems.

I defeated!
I remember when I first buyed Cod 4 which was my first ever shooter I found it very difficult I couldn't aim down the sights or do anything. So I decided to change the controls a bit including the sensitivity and I started to improve. I would play online against veterans and constantly die all the time so I learned alot from them. I would watch the killcams to see what tactics they were using how to clear rooms using stun or flash grenades constantly scanning around checking and using cover at all times made me become a better player at cod games. mw2 was my first COD game. I struggled to get kills and was happy when I would get a care package or UAV... lol.. My kd was 1.40 when it was all said and done on MW2. It took me 3 prestiges to figure out what perk served me best. Black Ops my KD was 1.59. I won more games and caught on quick. MW3 my KD is 2.19 and would be higher if I didn't mess around at times. highest I had it was 2.59

You and I think only about a handful of others...the rest are incredibly full of themselves.

MW3 is my first COD. Only 9 hours logged and I'm still not that great. Probably won't be at this rate since the diehards at well into the tens of days by now. I did get better creeping around the map but I'm not having as much fun as I did when I'd run and gun.
