(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 may have been the best-selling title of last year, but sometimes the first month of sales don't tell the whole story.

According to the January 2012's NPD figures, Modern Warfare 3 was able to sell a total of 386,000 during the month, fueled by a commercial with three celebrities and zero gameplay footage. To another series that would be great, but Call of Duty is held to a different standard. Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 750,000 units during the month of January last year, meaning that it nearly doubled the sales of Modern Warfare 3.

The question is: is this a sign of Modern Warfare 3 having shorter legs than its predecessors? Battlefield 3 put up a strong fight with sales totaling over 10 million, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive just around the corner ready for an AWP headshot. While the competition is is greater than previous years, it sounds like more than anything that Call of Duty fatigue is beginning to set-in.

Im thinking it could be because of skyrim. Maybe some people can only afford the one game, and went for skyrim. Idk just a theory.

Oh, when Robert Bowlhead said it, then its must be true. COD is no longer a game for hardcores. Activision and IW are on the noobs' side.
How can You say, "...if someone died 5 times he clearly deserves a deathstreak" .... Hmmm, no he doesn't for **** sake. He deserves to be raped if he can't play.
I'm sick of those idiots with portable radars and akimbo FMGs. Yes. We used to love COD, i mean, we have only 4 games which we play 24h a day, and all of them are IW games. But this one let us down, its clear that it is developed for casual gamers, a 'noob friendly'. We are veterans, and we never had portable uav's or akimbo shit to practice skill and aim. Putting this into game will push HC gamers off. Yes, IW says overall played online hours are telling something different. They are still huge, as more noobs play it. I use noob word as someone who isn't really good at FPS, as i don't know which word should i use instead of noob, sorry. No wonder COD sales are not so good, HC players spam all forums about this game being no good aynmore. Rant over. Thanks.

I like the new game and I will most likely always buy the cod games no matter what some article says about cod dying. I don't believe it because any given time I can get on and see hundreds of thousands of people online playing. The cod games are about as good as you can get when it comes to online game play in my opinion. I do somewhat agree though with the previous post about hc starting to cater to noobs, but whatever that means my stats will look better win I kill them all

With that being said, I am a HUGE Call of Duty fan but I am finding myself enjoying games much more on my PC. I feel Call of Duty may have run it's course and while I hate to admit it, something new needs to be brought to the table for the next CoD to be a sucess.

Exactly the same for me.

I disagree because if there are more people buying on release day, it means there is still alot of people buying
