It doesnt take 'skill' Its easy to hold "R1" (PS3) and sway your analogue sticks side to side and whipe out a room. Takes 2 - 3 bullets to kill? Its far too overpowered and the 10/12 people who use it, know that. With Steady aim the crosshairs are the size of a 5 pence piece(GB). When you spectate people using it, some of them hip-fire at ridiculous distances knowing its going to kill them. I mean whats the fun in running about holding R1? Doesnt it get boring? The only reason I can think of is that people who come top and use it 24/7 think they 'own' at the game in there mind. So they use it over and over. :S You get 10th prestige 65's spamming it with Jug constantly and killing you in 0.5 seconds. Could use ANY gun they want, but the level 10 gun is spammed. You also get people with 'cocky' clan tags; [iOWN] [$Ik?] [PRO*] [2GD!] and not to forget [GOML] but guess what they are using on maps such as 'Seelow'? It makes it almost impossible to kill them when they dropshot/snake which is also becoming a habbit on CoD5. The Dual Magazine has the clip the size of a Browning/MG or even bigger and takes like 8 seconds to run out?! WDF!?!?! I like how CoD5 can 'silence' the grenade launchers 10 seconds into a S& match and give us a map like Makin Day before one of the map packs came out, but not reduce the gun that has messed up the game. The MP40 makes CoD5 boring QUICKER. Ive heard people saying "If the MP40 was reduced, I would put this game down for good!" (shows how much they bum it) Feel free. Then maybe players can rank up guns like M1 Garands or Bolt Action rifles easier. Do the makers not understand that 90% of the people who play the game use it? And maybe they should reduce it 'slightly' so its not CoD5:Mp40@War?
I know 'ie hard 'MP40 fans arent going to be happy with this, but its my opinion.
The sooner MW2 comes the better.

(And no, Im not crying. Just pointing out how pathetic the gun is.)

Don't know if this has been said before but, I remember a persons website that pulled all the 'real' status of the guns from the PC version out on a chart. You could probably find the website from the users over at gamefaqs or unless someone here knows the URL to it but anyway from what I understand is that the Mp40 does more damage on here than it does on the PC version of the game, so on the PC version it's underpowered...

Ex: Mp40 does about 50 worth of damage but on the PC version it only does about 40

Is it overpowered? Doubtful, just unbalance like all the other guns in this game.

I think anyone who uses it is a big loser who doesnt realize how cool some of the other guns on the game are.

mp40 is awesome..

the mp40 isent OP, fact is the t100 or tommy kill faster face to face

i personaly use the mp40 on game types where ammo matters aka HQ sabotage ect i always get 20+ kill streaks per game, it simply isent possible to use another gun where ammo runs out too fast and barely any1 else uses (and yes you can pick up weapons but why when u can keep 1 and never run out of ammo or switch?)

but i use the tommy on SnD where ammo doesent matter and the tommy is a far better gun

i dislike the t100 because of the stupid magazine taking up half the screen :mad: otherwise it would be my #1 choice

i think people uses the mp40 because they hear how good i is i mean when we started playing W@W we all looked up tips and stuff and then lets say some n00b reads this exact fourm and hears how easy it is to kill with the mp40 hes gonna use it until he finds a gun he likes ._. thats the way the world works

Really getting tired of the MP40 threads. It's just a gun in a game. This is just like people complaining about the RPG in Metal Gear Online, or the M16 in Modern Warfare.

MP40 is just a gun. It may seem overpowered, that is because it was that powerful in WW2. It was the most used gun, and the most reliable. Its ability to be cheaply mass produced made it the favorite for the Whermacht. And the way the Whermacht machined the rifling in the barrel made it one of (If not THE) most accurate weapon of the WW2 era (next to the Springfield 306 and the M1A2 SF)

Just use something different like the Gewher. That with Sleight of Hand makes it a great set to handle an MP40.
