It doesnt take 'skill' Its easy to hold "R1" (PS3) and sway your analogue sticks side to side and whipe out a room. Takes 2 - 3 bullets to kill? Its far too overpowered and the 10/12 people who use it, know that. With Steady aim the crosshairs are the size of a 5 pence piece(GB). When you spectate people using it, some of them hip-fire at ridiculous distances knowing its going to kill them. I mean whats the fun in running about holding R1? Doesnt it get boring? The only reason I can think of is that people who come top and use it 24/7 think they 'own' at the game in there mind. So they use it over and over. :S You get 10th prestige 65's spamming it with Jug constantly and killing you in 0.5 seconds. Could use ANY gun they want, but the level 10 gun is spammed. You also get people with 'cocky' clan tags; [iOWN] [$Ik?] [PRO*] [2GD!] and not to forget [GOML] but guess what they are using on maps such as 'Seelow'? It makes it almost impossible to kill them when they dropshot/snake which is also becoming a habbit on CoD5. The Dual Magazine has the clip the size of a Browning/MG or even bigger and takes like 8 seconds to run out?! WDF!?!?! I like how CoD5 can 'silence' the grenade launchers 10 seconds into a S& match and give us a map like Makin Day before one of the map packs came out, but not reduce the gun that has messed up the game. The MP40 makes CoD5 boring QUICKER. Ive heard people saying "If the MP40 was reduced, I would put this game down for good!" (shows how much they bum it) Feel free. Then maybe players can rank up guns like M1 Garands or Bolt Action rifles easier. Do the makers not understand that 90% of the people who play the game use it? And maybe they should reduce it 'slightly' so its not CoD5:Mp40@War?
I know 'ie hard 'MP40 fans arent going to be happy with this, but its my opinion.
The sooner MW2 comes the better.

(And no, Im not crying. Just pointing out how pathetic the gun is.)

I like the flamethrower I have an addiction to it. But I DO use the mp40 time to time but I prefer the ptrs or like the browning or m1 carbine.

Over-poweredness is ripping right out of it.

Then every gun must be overpowered? the fg42 with its decent damage and high rate of fire seems unfair too, and what about the ptrs? Or other weak weapons like the type 100, why dont people complain about those?

Fg42 has good damage, but has about 10 bullets. Which is why not many people use it. PTRS, high damage but you need to get to 57 and have some sort of 'skill' to fend off the MP40's which most people dont have. Why dont people complain about these guns? Simply because you dont get 10/12 people using the FG42 and the cross-hairs arent the size of a 5 pence piece (or what ever the equivelent is in America) also there is no need when you have unlocked the 'best' gun in the game if you want to call it that, at level 10. You dont get 10/12 using the PTRS aswell unless your in a sniper lobby and dont need to use it when you can tap R1 twice with the MP40 at sniper range and kill. Its a shame to see so many people against me and 'sticking up' for the gun just because I pointed out some truths.

First off, yes I can easily get top with a Thompson or a PPSH1 just as long as I have a good connection, which most of the time, I don't. And I DO agree that using a MP40 on maps like seelow has no need.

And have you TRIED using any gun besides the MP40 with a red bar connection? Really sucks, its like throwing bullets, not shooting them. Since the MP40 can shoot from the hip good enough it makes up for the bullets being so slow to hit.

Seriously if you say that the only skill you need for the MP40 is pressing R1, then tell me what difference is that to any SMG?
If I'm using a MP40 and I'm fighting someone with a MP40, don't you need skill to beat him? because as I said before, you need to be able to shoot better, and faster to get the kill. Which honestly is more like real life. Do they care what weapon the enemy is using? No, its who can shoot first, and shoot right. The only difference is the weapons type, as in SMG, Rifle, Sniper, Shotgun or Machine gun.

And if anyone disagrees on the Thompson part, add me so I can prove you wrong.

Who cares it's a gun in the game. Quite crying about it and learn to combat it. I eat these fools up all day long with my Rifle. If you can't do that find another game to play.

i have no problem with the mp40 honestly what i do have a problem with is jugger40s (like i said befor once i made up the word so dont think everyone knows it >.> its the combo of mp40 and juggernaut but its the juggernaut part i hate not the mp40 part

Lol, throwing bullets! Any other Machine gun its advised to look down your gun, if not the OTHER hip-firer (More than likely MP40er) your going to lose because the cross-hairs arent the size of the tip of your pinky. If your fighting another MP40er then who ever dropshots/snakes first (What everyone seems to do on CoD5 these days) or if hes the host or better connection, is going to be the winner. (Since there is always about half a second delay) Yeah, its not real life thoughzzz. Its a game we spent £40 - £45 on, to get constantly slaughtered with the same gun over and over. And if you decide to use a diff' gun like M1 Garand or something the chances are slim your going to win. I guess CoD5 would have been better if they gave another gun Magically powers aswell instead of just one. Thats why its becoming pathetic. & I believe you about the Thompson
