Investigative organization WikiLeaks released classified U.S. military video today showing the killing of more than a dozen Iraqis, including two Reuters employees, with a spokesperson for the whistle-blower group slamming the soldiers involved for their "video game" like behavior.

That video, which is incredibly disturbing and graphic, shows a group of Iraqis walking the streets of New Baghdad, identified as armed "insurgents" by military personnel. The group, which reportedly included Reuters photojournalist Namir Noor-Eldeen and assistant Saeed Chmagh, is gunned down by a pair of Apache attack helicopters. Later, a minivan that appears to come to the assistance of the wounded is fired upon.

Australian journalist and WikiLeaks advisory board member Julian Assange released the video at the National Press Club in Washington. "The behavior of the pilots is like they're playing a video game," said Assange, according to a report from Fox News. "It's like they want to get high-scores in that computer game."

Ok, the person who wrote the article or said they were acting like it was a video game, is just ridiculous. Nothing I seen in that video made it seem like it was a "video game". Also you have to take to account what year this happened, it was in 2007 which had the most casualities of US forces out of the entire Iraq War (904 soldiers killed) (961 Coalition Forces combines killed). Yeah I feel sorry for the guys with cameras and their families, but you shouldn't hang out with people carrying Ak's walking down the street. This war and the war in Afganistan we are not fighting soldiers in uniform, they dress like civilians. The camera guys could even be working for the insurgents for propaganda BS like the terrorists like to put out into the media. They could have been on their way to plant an IED or something, we just don't know. This is war and the way it is and people just have to accept that some civilians are innocently killed sometimes. It being the deadliest year of the war if I was in their position I would have done the same thing.

The men in the Apache were clearly not in the right state of mind, and to say that video games were the cause of this is absurd. I think of it as someone saying that if you were raised to be a violent person then your most likely going to kill/hurt someone. I mean the information is there its just how certain people take it in and set it in motion. I agree that what they did was wrong but i viewed all the comments on youtube and everyone is degrading America for what two men did without rational judgement. Im sure the Army trains them to be this way so the government should be blamed not the country as a whole.

To say "its war, your going to get shot at", is abit dramatic isn't it?
Iraqi's still have the right to walk down a street with a camera without being shot at by an apache helicopter.
Imagine if you were those Iraqi's and you were walking down the street with your camera and an american helicopter started shooting at you, you'd be like WTF?
After a few views of that video, i believe those american soldiers clearly wanted to kill them people no matter who they were, they should be ashamed.

Unfortunately...no it's not dramatic at all. That's what a war is...people trying to kill other people to get what they want.

don't you think the realism of Call of Duty, specifically, will create a desensitized generation of individuals?

Case and point is a post back a page or two that said the guy was just because he had an 11 kill streak. Although that post was funny as hell...it does give a little proof to my point. Happy

Granted some people are heartless and don't care about anyone around them does not mean that some people cant cipher between whats real and whats not. I get what your saying but its usally the young that cant distinguish between the two.

This is basically all that needs to be said...they did have weapons. There fore they are a threat.

Ok let me get on the serious side

People are saying it was wrong because the cameramen weren't armed.

True but the people walking with them were armed, the shooter had no way of knowing who those two people were. If you are walking around in the middle of a city with people who have weapons, you are a threat.

At 4:12 only the lense of the camera can be seen, it could very easily be mistaken for an RPG due to its shape.

For all the army knew the people in the van could've been "back-up" for the terrorist group, and someone could have easily come out from the back of the van with an RPG and took down the apache.

The sound heartless because how excited would you be after gunning down 12-15 threats and saving your ass.

Exactly. We shouldn't be blaming the solders for this, because one of our soldiers lives are worth a 100 times more than one of theirs. Civilian casualties are going to happen in war.
