To and fro the island.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); After doing a search, I was unsuccessful in finding a thread of a similar topic, and therefore decided to make one of my own.

The question is simple: "When you are older, whether older meaning out of High School or after College, or simply later in life, what do you want to do with your life?

I have various hopes for my future.

- Journalism: Since I was a child, I've enjoyed writing, and have always wanted to be a novelist. As I've grown, however, that desire to be a novelist has become something a bit more concrete, being a journalist. Becoming even more concrete, in the recent months I have taken a large interest in political happenings, in which being a political journalist would be my desire.

- Politician: Growing up a shy, timid individual, leadership is the last thing many would think I'd be interested in. That said, as I've gotten older my views have become solid, and I've gained quite a few opinions of my own, opinions I think are solid enough to go head to head with that of some of my elders. My mere issue is speaking my opinion. I still am not one to take control in all situations, in which I think it vital to my success in this field. It's something I've been working on quite a bit over the past month or so, and something I think will take time, but I'll break out of this rather timid and pessimistic stage in due time.

My true hope would be to some day become President of The United States, something I really would like to do to help the nation in which has lost many of the values it once had. I'd also very much like to be a Justice, or Chief Justice, in the Supreme Court of The United States. You may think that they are silly desires, but they are that of mine, and if I set my mind to it I think I could achieve one of these things.

There are several careers that I am interested in at the moment, the first being an engineer. I've yet to decide whether I want to be a chemical or mechanical engineer, as they both interest me. I'm also interested in working for the government, probably as a type of government contractor, pmost likely for some technology firm.

Indeed, I've heard such comments as well. I do feel confident that my writing is good enough, however, in which I would swim, rather than sink in the risky field that is journalism.

Also, my uncle is one of the top journalists here in Saint Louis, Missouri, Bernie Miklasz, so I'm confident that if I ever needed help, or advice in the field of journalism, he'd be able to provide it for me. Don't get me wrong, though, I wouldn't be the type to fall back on my uncle whenever I did not succeed.

Side Note: You live in St. Louis? I live 45 minutes away! (in Missouri)

I plan on going to college at Rolla, MO (Missouri Science and Technology) for engineering. I took a camp their last year and liked the electrical engineering and computer science. So I'm hoping to dual-major with those two fields. Smile

It's for my country and the experience, not my enjoyment. Once through with that, I would like to pursue politics, but we'll see. My opinions aren't the most popular ones.

Look into ROTC or NROTC. I got a scholarship that basically pays for college, shit is so cash. I personally recommend the Marine Corps, but Army is good too.

In september I will begin three years trainning to become a deck officer. Once I've finished the trainning im then qualified to work for any shipping company on any ship anywhere in the world whether that be in England, America or even somwhere like China.

I ended up choosing this as a Career because its good to very good pay depending who you work for and the travel oppourtunites are amazing and Im good at maths which is the main subject you need for a career like this.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I suppose that if I had to chose a branch, I'd go with Army, but really they're all fine.
