To and fro the island.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); After doing a search, I was unsuccessful in finding a thread of a similar topic, and therefore decided to make one of my own.

The question is simple: "When you are older, whether older meaning out of High School or after College, or simply later in life, what do you want to do with your life?

I have various hopes for my future.

- Journalism: Since I was a child, I've enjoyed writing, and have always wanted to be a novelist. As I've grown, however, that desire to be a novelist has become something a bit more concrete, being a journalist. Becoming even more concrete, in the recent months I have taken a large interest in political happenings, in which being a political journalist would be my desire.

- Politician: Growing up a shy, timid individual, leadership is the last thing many would think I'd be interested in. That said, as I've gotten older my views have become solid, and I've gained quite a few opinions of my own, opinions I think are solid enough to go head to head with that of some of my elders. My mere issue is speaking my opinion. I still am not one to take control in all situations, in which I think it vital to my success in this field. It's something I've been working on quite a bit over the past month or so, and something I think will take time, but I'll break out of this rather timid and pessimistic stage in due time.

My true hope would be to some day become President of The United States, something I really would like to do to help the nation in which has lost many of the values it once had. I'd also very much like to be a Justice, or Chief Justice, in the Supreme Court of The United States. You may think that they are silly desires, but they are that of mine, and if I set my mind to it I think I could achieve one of these things.

nice. I just could not have any desk job, or try being a doctor (all that school would cost a fortune and it takes so many years). All those kind of jobs are just too boring for me. I don't really have a voice that'd be good for announcing though lol.

I would personally be an Officer as you assume command from the start, instead of waiting 4-5 years. Its ironic because you wait 4-5 years for a college degree, but you get my point.

I think it would be sick to lead a 10th Mountain Division platoon or a Ranger platoon.

If I can't fly for some reason, I'm going infantry, kill as many people as I can and probably die as a Captain.

One of the toughest issues in career choice and career goal setting and planning is identifying what is it you want. Even when it seems that you know what you want, you may still have doubts on if your career choice is right. Reaching clarity in those issues may be the most important thing you can do in your career planning and goal setting.

Here are a few career goal setting guidelines that can help.

Most people, even very successful ones, have some periods in their career path when they seem unsure about their career choice and goals. It is totally human to feel that way. Often, such periods just come and go. For example, they come when you face some owhervelming obstacles on your way. It is all over as soon as you get through the obstacles. That situation by itself is not a problem of choosing career, only a test of your perseverance.

But what if those doubts persist, if they always live somewhere in the background of your thoughts? If it just does not feel right? If this is the case, then it is time to look more carefully at your career choice and occupational goals and objectives.

When I grow up I want to be Captain Price. I mean, just look at his beard. Who wouldn't want that?

No but really, I want to fly something like this.

You must login or register to view this content.

All depends when I join (as in when I get a lot fitter than now) and where I would be based to depend on what you fly.

As for Richie, wouldn't it be better going through the ranks from PTE and getting promoted that way? I mean like the better officers will be the ones who have experience no? Jumping straight into battle and commanding without it seems kinda stupid...if you know what I mean.

Whatever you end up doing, make sure you do it all the way. If you dont give it 100% your failing yourself and others that have helped you get there. If you have a dream-persue it, if you dont, you will be wondering "WHAT IF" your entire life. Dont let the nay sayers get in your way-Its your dream, not theirs. YOU WILL FAIL, trust me, you will fail more then you succeed-If you don't, then your playing it too safe and will never learn who you are or what your able to accomplish in life.
To some of you I am older, to others in the work force I am a young rook. I am one that has taken more chances and have been fortunate to learn from my failures and succeed in the long run. It has been a roller coaster ride, with the ups and downs of life, and since its my decisions, I have no regrets. As my hockey coach always told us-"if you dont shoot, you can't score".
My latest goal in life is to be a representative for the Republican Party of Douglas County and one day I would love to be a governer or another elected official.
