To and fro the island.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); After doing a search, I was unsuccessful in finding a thread of a similar topic, and therefore decided to make one of my own.

The question is simple: "When you are older, whether older meaning out of High School or after College, or simply later in life, what do you want to do with your life?

I have various hopes for my future.

- Journalism: Since I was a child, I've enjoyed writing, and have always wanted to be a novelist. As I've grown, however, that desire to be a novelist has become something a bit more concrete, being a journalist. Becoming even more concrete, in the recent months I have taken a large interest in political happenings, in which being a political journalist would be my desire.

- Politician: Growing up a shy, timid individual, leadership is the last thing many would think I'd be interested in. That said, as I've gotten older my views have become solid, and I've gained quite a few opinions of my own, opinions I think are solid enough to go head to head with that of some of my elders. My mere issue is speaking my opinion. I still am not one to take control in all situations, in which I think it vital to my success in this field. It's something I've been working on quite a bit over the past month or so, and something I think will take time, but I'll break out of this rather timid and pessimistic stage in due time.

My true hope would be to some day become President of The United States, something I really would like to do to help the nation in which has lost many of the values it once had. I'd also very much like to be a Justice, or Chief Justice, in the Supreme Court of The United States. You may think that they are silly desires, but they are that of mine, and if I set my mind to it I think I could achieve one of these things.

Well I still need to be fit to pass the officer fitness tests, otherwise I can say bye bye. The joining age in the RAF is 17.5 to 25 for pilot, and I'm only 18. I have been reading it You must login or register to view this content. and You must login or register to view this content. as of now, but when the time comes closer, obviously I will be looking at the local recruitment office for my guidance etc.

Are the UK Marines different from the US Marines? The Marines will train you to do the 'more experienced' work. Switching which branch you join severely hurts your promotions up to an NCO or higher.

17.5 years old for pilot? Unless your a smart dude who got your 4 year degree before 18, you will probably be 22 when you go into flight training. If you enlist, that will take longer and will be pushing that 25 year limit.

There are two different recruiters:
-Enlisted recruiter
-Officer recruiter

The officer recruiter will help you become a pilot. The enlisted recruiter will help you become a mechanic.

When I was in high school I hated being there. I went to college and hated being there even more. So I joined the Navy. Been all over the globe, gotten drunk on things that had labels I could NOT read, spent time sitting on the deck of a ship of the coast of Antarctica, been in the Persian gulf, got "military mma training" in Korea. Ended up hating all of that too in the end. So now I'm just finishing up my degree (back in college) and truly desire to go back to high school and world history and coach football. Plus my wife teaches physics and biology at the same school thats hiring me. So we get all summer off. That part rocks.Smile^Smile^
