just like the title says, where will ilya kovalchuk go?
he refused to stay in atlanta even though they offered him 100 million $ over 10 years, and supposedly the islanders are willing to offer the same amount. reports say the devils are interested and i personally think they have the best shot, but there have also been rumours of him maybe going to the kings. if the price got dropped, the leafs said they would be more interested. so where do you think he will go?
i know most of you are not hockey fans, but im sure someone is on these forums.
i see your point, considering he refused 100 million over 10 years in atlanta which is a losing market and again with the islanders, another losing market, as you said and i agree, i think he will be staying with the devils, which out of the teams that have given him offers, they are the best team, so i agree with the part about wanting to win
what gonna happen now new contract? he said yes to devils nhl said no to contract lol
they said No because they are trying to make the contract less then what it is.
They are gonna pay him like 12 million the first few years, then next to nothing the last few, Just like Chicago did with Hossa.
Lou Lamerello is more than likely going to appeal it, and if the league doesnt want a law suit, they will allow it.
they pretty much setup the contract so that they would not have to pay him a huge sum of money for the last few years of it because both parties know he will not be playing then, also after the first 7 years it is setup so they can easily buy out his contract or send him to the minors and not have to pay it, im glad they are not letting it happen, so now the nhlpa will look into it and either agree with the nhl's decision to reject it or they will say the contract is fine
