(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); just like the title says, where will ilya kovalchuk go?

he refused to stay in atlanta even though they offered him 100 million $ over 10 years, and supposedly the islanders are willing to offer the same amount. reports say the devils are interested and i personally think they have the best shot, but there have also been rumours of him maybe going to the kings. if the price got dropped, the leafs said they would be more interested. so where do you think he will go?

i know most of you are not hockey fans, but im sure someone is on these forums. Smile

they didnt set it up like that so they dont have to pay him when hes not playing, its so they can put it as an average cap space, so they can free up cap space.

well i definitely agree with the fact that he can put the puck in the back of the net, he had 44 goals last year, and since 2001 when he came into the league he has the most goals out of everyone, as well a forrmer rocket richard trophy winner in 2004

yeah but, they know and so does ilya that he will not be playing at the end of his contract, so they will not have to pay him, and of course it is so they can have free cap space

He'll be 44 when the contract is up.
Many Great players play in their 40's
Hasek, Madano, Chelios
It would be wrong to assume he wont play in his early 40's

i know many great people have, but they are assuming he will not be, or his production will have dropped so much that they can easily just buy him out or send him to the minors which they have been known to do in the past (alexander mogilny)

lol, you guys have a good core group of scorers, i was hoping he would come to toronto, especially since they say they would be interested in him if the price dropped, and he only accepted a contract from the devils that would pay him 6 million per year at most, thats a bargain for him, so i was hoping the leafs would be more active

but i agree it would probably be amazing seeing him play with the twins, they are amazing to watch sometimes, and henrik could just keep setting him up for goals
