(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I went on a search.
I am Atheist now, I am also an Ex-Catholic.
So Instead of being biased, I went to look at both sides of this argument. I got motivational quotes from both Atheists and Christians/Religious People. And it was shocking.

The Best Atheist Quotes:

Then why call him God."

"Men never commit evil so fully and joyfully as when they do it for religious convictions"

Okay so heres this part.
All the above quotes were by some of the smartest people who ever lived. The best philosophers, scientists ect.
But yet when I come to the Christian side, I find that 99% of the quotes are taken directly from a 2000 year old book which people call the bible. Or some cheesy ass shit like this:

So tell me, How come nearly every famous scientist that has ever lived has been atheist? And that normal Religious people cannot come up with faults in Atheism?

This is the shit that turned me Atheist.

Thank you for Reading.

It's not twisting words, it's called comprehension. The way you typed it led me to believe that you were saying Atheists never provide any evidence and just expect you to believe them. Although, in theology, this is very common itself.

There are always those that bring the appearance of something down, i.e. him and atheism. Besides, science doesn't disprove or even say God does not exist, but the God that everyone in the world worships throughout all walks of religion is not that of a logical answer. IMO that God of War guy is a lot closer to the truth

Agreed, Doctor House. Now stop taking that Vicodin.

P.S. A wise man once said "Religion is like a penis: it's okay to have one. It's okay to be proud of having one. Just don't pull it out in public and don't shove it down children's throats."

I was just pointing out how the guy was accusing Atheists of doing this and acting like the other party doesn't, although it does all the time. This really had nothing to do with the whole "Is God Existent?" argument. xD Except maybe for the fact that it had to do with theology and Atheism, otherwise the only thing I was saying was that what he had said was utter bullshit. Dx

And like you said, there's always something like this that happens, and I just wanted to point that out.

Has been a while
I used to be a full on Christian (middle school... I was a little kid) but now I'm an atheist. I believe religion is based upon faith and mainly faith alone. The youth group at my church explain their reasons pretty irrationally and that just turned me off from actually being a believer of "christ and god"... I just stopped going to church when my pastor said, "We will have individual meetings where I believe and what God believes in what you will be when you grow up and what you should do in life to best serve God"... Are you serious? I'm was in 10th grade and he tells me this -__-.... So yea I definitely agree with you bro on the whole religion thing. People say "oh it's because you are a teenager, u're just going through a phase". Bullshit, I admit I'm still young (22) but I can back up what I believe as an atheist and so can many other teens/young adults. I can't really put my full thoughts on this post as it can come out to at least 10 pages. I'm not saying all christians or other relgious groups are ignorant, but majority of people I meet that are strong believers just give me irrational explanations and implausible answers...

Us atheists don't just put down religions and judge it without rational reasoning. We know what we are talking about and we can support it with RATIONAL AND PLAUSIBLE notions.

Retired Life
The greatest secular, theolgic, and scientific minds have argued the excistance of God for 10,000 years.
Since we are all so much smarter now that we have nearly unlocked the secrets of the universe, I guess we can toss out all of histories previous debates.
Does God exist?
Is there life after death?
Does THE God care which dogma you subscribe to?

The thread started with 3 choices.
I believe there should be a 4th choice.
Is one permitted to belive in God without prescribing to a particular religious doctrine?

I don't believe the debate has changed and all views have merit.
Why does 1 group feel superior to another when the best minds in history can not decide for certain.
But the first group has always and remains in the minority. Even if they feel like mental eliteists.
