Yes the £ is more than the $ but that's why a packet of crisps is 40p here and the same packet of crisps is 79cents in the USA. It balances out to the same equivalent amount. You wouldn't get more for your money if you transfer your money to dollars, it depends completely on the exchange rate to how much money you lose/gain from exchanging currency. But it wouldn't be a massive difference. Maybe just a couple dollars or couple quid.
