(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Can what Michael Vick did be forgiven or overlooked?

I'm a Eagles fan and his performance this year and last night is nothing short of game changing.
His new passing accuracy and patience on top of his speed in the scheme they are running could make him one of the top quarterbacks in the game.

I am struggling with knowing what he did. Dog fighting I could forgive easily but personally torturing many dogs is hard to forget. Isn't that the shit that serial killers do when growing up. Does the desire to torture something, just to do it, ever go away?
I guess everyone deserves a second chance. He did his time in prison, lost all his money, and said he is sorry.
I just can't help but feel that he realized that being rich and famous is more fun that torturing defenseless dogs.

Do you think if he won a super bowl he would be saying at the end of the game "I'm going to disneyworld"

The ugly truth is, as an eagles fan, I'm hoping I find out the answer to that question.
But I will never buy a Vick jersey.

Neither will you, ever. Micheal Vick at least has the talent to play in the NFL and has the balls to get off his ass every week and play in front of millions of people.

granted but let's not kid ourselves here. he was a hack in atlanta (glad we got rid of him) and it's only a matter of time before he is either a registered sex offender or working for a high school team paying the IRS in back taxes.

Ahh so your a piss sore Atlanta fan who is in denial that he is doing good with another team?

I highly doubt he is going to make the same mistakes again, he knows better. He's on the right path now and hopefully he'll lead the eagles to a superbowl.

What do you expect he used to live in a bad neighbouhood in the projects and hes a gangster of course hes gonna set up dog fighting personally i dont give a shit considering they were most the dogs were pitbulls and they are banned in Ontario which is where i live cause all they do is go for little kids necks and kill other dogs and make up for 65 percent of dog attacks on humans

Because killing a guy who has a family to feed because you got in a car and drove drunk is so much better?

You're entitled to your own opinion, but your reasoning is so asinine. He shouldn't be forgiven because animals don't know better. Well it isn't like a guy knows if he goes outside today he is going to get stabbed/run down by a drunk driver but opted to take the risk.

Lets add Lawrence Taylor to the list of people who "deserve a second chance". or the list of people who "took advatange of someone who didn't know any better"

Sorry to break it to ya champ but Sports and personal lives don't always tie together.

The law punished Vick, and he did his time. The NFL's job is to put butts in seats, and get people to turn on their televisions. They don't care what type of individual is under that helmet.

If you'd like to watch a bunch of wholesome, great-hearted people playing sports, I don't know where to have you look.

Besides.. this thread was about forgiveness... not if you think he should still play football Smile

Bottom line is that he is a human and humans make mistakes. Does he deserve a second chance? Yes cause he came back and didn't just give up. Its kinda like when Micheal Jordan didn't make his high school team, the next year he went back out and not only made the team but made the hall of fame
