Most gamers argue about which console is better, or which has a better online gaming service. Most would say Xbox Live is better, since you must pay for their service to play online.

Well, our friends at Joysiq got some amazing numbers from Sony at the press conference at CES.

Sony CEO Howard Stringer explained that 60 million Playstation Network accounts have been made, while only 30 million (Free and Gold) Xbox Live accounts have been made.

Joystiq notes that this includes users on a PS3, PSP, and people who have created Playstation Network accounts online without actually touching a console or handheld.

PS3 may have more but. More users actually play Xbox live. Just look at the playlist in XBL games, and compare them to PS3.

I own both consoles, and hell. There both amazing in their own way. Xbox has more features, and FANTASTIC online. While PS3 is flat out.. awesome! Everything's free!

I've made nearly 20 accounts on PSN by now, those numbers mean nothing. IMO it's closer to 15-20M actually active users.

Account's should be deleted after a year of not playing IMO same with youtube..
