(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Figured this would be an interesting debate. So what do you think the cause of it is. As everyone knows this is the Law of Gravity. There is evidence, but no known reason for it. So what do you personally think it is.

Honestly, I have no idea Winky Winky

It is called Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Not Einstein's Law of relativity.

So you don't believe in the theory of relativity?

Since elfomat just facepalmed, I'll try to explain..

Theory: Best explanation for natural phenomenon based on evidence present.

Law: A statement of a relation or sequence of phenomena invariable under the same conditions.

So basically a law is an answer to a "what" question, gravity is a law because every time I drop an apple, it will fall to the ground. It is a statement about natural occurences. A theory is an explanation. Laws can be disproven just like theories.

Thanks. After his response to my original post I just assumed that the question he was asking was, "Why does matter distort space/time?" I spent all that time trying to explain the nature of "why" questions and how difficult they are to answer, when the actual point of discontent was his misunderstanding of the nature of my original post. Oh well.

Well, gravity holds the planets in orbit. And when to objects rotate with eachother the closer they are there gravity will be stronger (accretion).
So the pull of the sun causes our gravity?

1.) Spin doesn't produce an outward push of gravity. Gravity is what causes one mass to be attracted to another. The Earth's gravity is strongest at its core, which is why we are attracted down (towards this core).

2.) The *simple* reason you don't fly off is because the earth isn't spinning fast enough. (Obviously, if it did, cars, rocks, chihuahuas would be flying off until all was left was below orbital velocity.

So I think it's YOU who's retarded. And it doesn't go against my argument because it's two similar things but on a MASSIVELY increased scale. If you're going to call me a retard then at least know what you're talking about.
