Lebron James - The Mistake

Lebron, Lebron, Lebron. Was it worth it? You were on the track to winning a ring with Cleveland. After this year, Boston is splitting up, and had you stayed with Cleveland I felt your chances of winning would be higher than ever. How much regret do you think he has. I know the regular season isn't over yet but for crying out loud! At the beginning of the year when the Heat were bad all the analysts said, "Oh don't worry give them time." Even Lebron said they are going to get better at the beginning of the year. How much time to they need? Playoffs are coming and teams like Boston, San Antonio, and LA are looking more ready than ever. Meanwhile the Heat can't actually beat a good team, nor can perform in the clutch. Unless some divine intervention happens, I don't see the Heat contending at all. Another question that pops into my mind is, how close is Spoelstra from getting fired? I have a gut feeling Pat Riley will step in soon, because it's now or never!

tl;dr: The Miami Heat have a 0% chance of winning the title this year, and Lebron should have stayed in Cleveland.

He can get all the assists and pretty stats he wants but it creates a team that becomes crippled when things don't go perfectly.

ClutchLikeMelo I'm very happy you created this thread. This thread gives people in my opinion the true idea of what Lebron James did. Which is his biggest mistake of his life. I remember when he first came into the league he changed the entire cleveland team into a winning dynasty. The man could of won the ring if he stood patience. if i remember correctly you stated boston celtics are spilting apart and your right about that but also there getting much older. Lebron James could of done what Michael Jordan did. Stood with one franchise with a good supporting cast and gave Cleveland it first champion. by joining mami he threw himself out of discussion for comparison of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Lebron James had so many potiental to have his legacy written to be GOAT. But by forming an alliances with his buddies Wade and Bosh he tarnish that legacy. Yes he says he going for the ring, but people will question him could he have won it without Wade and Bosh? i hardly doubt it. They way the trio predicted how many rings there going to win was ridcoulous. A lot people get on me because they say "oh kobe can't win it without shaq" but people tend to forget when shaq came to the Lakers, who they had? Young Derek Fisher (which he distrube the ball damn well at young age) then you had Robert Horry (a clutch 3 pointer in the post-season) and Rick Fox (a good average player.) Then you have the best coach of all time who coached one of the greatest player of all time which is Michael Jordan. What I believe is what people failed realized is you need a 1 & 2 punch combo and helluva coach who knows how to utilize his team with good supporting cast to win a championship team. The coach they have is very young with a lot of potiental but he seem be having a lot problems having his hothead espeically Lebron James under control. You know how many times Lebron James missed a clutch shot espeically a blocked from Amare Stoudmire. Lebron forgets he is not clutch shooter he is a clutch dunker. He not in level to be consider a clutch player such as Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Chauncey Billups etc. In my personal opinion Lebron gets too much attention handed to him when he doesn't deserve it. He couldn't handle the pressure to win championship in Cleveland so he went to his buddy to "try" to "win" a championship. The guy is pathetic. I'm very disappointed in Lebron James. I'm glad you made this thread ClutchLikeMelo. I thought this was a very good thread

Lmao 90% of athletes commit severe crimes? Did you get that stat from the KKK? :black:

This topic wasn't about Lebron, it was about the Heat. Your blind love for Lebron made everyone realize what it was actually about. He can be your favorite player, i'm not knocking you for that. I was merely pointing out the reason for the change in play and that my quote predicted it. Everyone is entitled to their opinions....

I respect Lebron as a basketball player (mostly). I just think he acts like is a self centered, ego-maniacal, popcorn stealing, third-person referring, nine year old girl =D

It was about the heat winning three games in a row, and how the majority of people on NGU hate on the Lebron/the heat. That they always say stuff when the Heat/Lebron are losing/not playing well, but when they go on a win streak they dont say anything. I'm not only refering to NGU I see it all the time were I live. People always hate on the Heat when there losing, but once they start winning they either start jumping on the Heat bandwagon or don't say anything regarding the Heat.

My blind love for Lebron hasn't changed anything in this thread. All I'm doing is replying to peoples. In which most posts are on the same topic for which this thread was made.

Speaking of self centered, ego-maniacal, popcorn stealing, third-person referring, nine year old girls, Ron Artest anyone =D?

Lebrong never wanted to be like Kobe. Two totally different people. Kobe knows what it takes to win, LeBron is all for show now. If he truly wanted to win, he would of been doing it 3-4 years earlier. Or he should of left Cleveland a long time ago. He just doesnt have that killer instinct others like ive mentioned before have

Did you watch the video? Kobe said "I'm taking my talents to the NBA" Lebron said "I'm taking my talents to South Beach"

What i was trying to point out is it wasn't almost exactly the same. And Kobe DID hold a press conference type thing which at the time was 10x bigger then what most basketball players did. X years later Lebron holds his announcment and at the time his is 10x bigger then what anyone does. Just saying, mock of what Kobe did much =D?

And Lebron didn't leave Cleveland because he thought they had a chance at winning 3-4 years ago. I'm guessing he started to think they didn't have a chance withing his last 2 years there and was going to wait to free agencie in 2010 to either move or get Cleveland to make a big trade. They didn't go for a big trade and he moved.

Im going to say this though, making the trades without knowing if LeBron was staying or going made it hard for any bigtime free-agent to want to come to Cleveland. Plus all these athletes are about "Brands" now. We would of had Bosh, but he feels his "Brand" wouldnt grow in Cleveland. LOL

Im sorry but what BRAND does Bosh have, he hasnt done anything special since he has been in the NBA haha

Yeah, Cleveland was in a horrible spot. Theres no doubting that. But Lebron knew he couldn't win in Cleveland and it didn't look like they were going to get anyone. Nobody wanted to go to Cleveland, because like you said, they didn't know if Lebron was staying. Something should have been done about this situtation a few years back by Gilbert. He should've seen something like that coming, or somebody with brains in the office should've and they should've prepaired for it.

Lebron also knew his "brand" wouldn't grow anymore than it has in Cleveland and that why he moved. By moving to Miami with two other great players. Our one GREAT one in Wade and another pretty good one in bosh his "brand" would be in a whole different league.

How are the Kobe and Lebron things related at all other than the wording?

Kobe was a 17 year old high schooler doing what 17 year old high school athletes do.

Lebron was 26 year old man doing what 17 year old high school athletes do :carling:

The wording was exactly the same. I just found it funny that Lebron said exactly what Kobe said all those years ago. Figured it was done on purpose by Lebron knowing thats what people would be mocking him over.

Ever think Lebron is acting so young because he wants to relive his child hood which he never had a chance to live because he skipped college and went to the NBA?
03-16-2011, 05:33 PM #54
Lebron probably held some announcement similar to Kobes anyway when he went to the NBA, so once again don't see how that is an excuse. He didn't just randomly appear one day.

In any event, I don't care why Lebron acts immature, its that he does. Now I'm done since this topic has gone horribly off point :p

Yeah, Lebrons my favorite player, your point? Started watching basketball four-five years ago and Lebron was the most exiting person to watch. Started out liking Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Howard, Allen, and Dirk, the main people on ESPN that were fun to watch. Realized Kobe was a rapist, just started to dislike the c's but Allen is still fun to watch, still love watching Howard play, and Lebron and Wade have been my favorite players sence I started watching basketball. Thats why i like the Heat, not just because Lebron went there.

Everyone'll remember Kobe as one of the best of all-time, earning his championships. LBJ had to team up with some all-stars to try and win one. Kobe helped build the team he has, he didn't have to get some GREAT players worth several millions. the Heat are corrupt, don't even have chemistry, teams like that don't make it far in the post-season.
