About a month ago I started learning it, got the hang of it in a week and I drive a Standard car now a lot of the time and I personally love it, however, I have the slight fear of stalling on a hill in a city with another car right on my ass. :S

Manual/standard for me.
Im from Ireland and the majority of cars here are manual.
Its much better as you choose when to change gears not the car. Its more fun!

I hate too with the old crappy cars but new cars are great =D

I guess this is mostly a USA thing..

In the UK we all drive manual (Standard) .. Its really rare you see somebody driving a automatic.

But I guess in the USA its the other way around?

Well I prefer manual but can drive automatics too..

If you learn the hardest, I guess the easy bit is well.. Easy.

my dads clutch is stuffed, so auto for now. but in a few months i will be getting my own car and it will definitely be a manual. Sequential box is tempting, but then i will be restricted to autos, so manual is the go.

I can drive anything as im a qualified mechanic and have to for my job but i much prefer stick ^_^ automatic is just weird

It really just depends. If your driving a sports car obviously driving it with a stick is going to be more fun than an automatic. However, driving a regular car on a stick eventually becomes tiresome because the novelty runs out and you just get bored of it.

So for me just depends on what car I'm driving.

really? that's weird! not many people around here drive manual. It's pretty much normal to drive an automatic.

Y'all pussies who drive Auto. It's easy and lazy. Having control of when to change gear is awesome. So what if you stall up hill? I have done it and didn't care. If you can drive stick well you can do all the stuff you have all mention. Learn to drive.

I drive both, but I prefer standard over automatics. With a standard you can hold off to a higher rpm then shift, especially if you have a car with a lot of ponies :carling:

But don't worry if you stall oh a hill or in a city, just let the clown hit you, then use the excuse "My car stalled, and he was tailgating me :FU:" Thats if you don't live in a no fault state -__-

Is it really illegal?? I have yet to see people on the phone getting pulled over for such in my part? Hmm odd. Well either way I fugging hate when people text and drive /facepalm Cops really need to start cracking down on it. :bat:
