Alright, first off, I didn't know people would be so sensitive with this topic, I'm gonna have this moved to Forum Games because it is more like a game. You just snap when they say it, and post it.
Also, I didn't make a thread about rep, for rep
For all those who think I did it for rep, -rep me.
lol if you want the 'news' I post, go to the News section =D I know what your saying though, rep used to be an incentive for people to contribute, over the fact that they are helping people. Now, it is a bit out of control, I've seen members with like 100 posts and 4k rep. I mean, that could possibly be 'earned' --whatever that means today-- but it isn't likely. To simply put it, people perceive rep as a game.
The censoring of rep was a idea behind good intentions, but it sort of backfired. It made members type 'rep' *** repeatedly, in the SB. I get what you mean by having positive benefits, but there are also a mess of negatives. Members have quit due to having their rep reset and such. They carry rep with them too much, and if it means without it, they can't be active, that's just sad. My solution to this would be to disable rep in General Discussions, as a majority of the 'rep' threads are posted here. As far as the SB and rep, banning rep is hard to enforce because of PM's. I can't receive SB pm's because of my name change or something, and I'm actually glad.

In alot of cases rep is useful.. for those users who got it legit. Think of it this way: i am the only prem, active, high repped chick on the site. Whenever a new girl shows up users send her to me if she needs the help: my rep shows i've been around and posting & gives them a little to go by. Thats one reason i personally like having the chance to get rep.
Rep is another reason why i stayed active on this site, without the rep system i probably wouldn't of stuck around though all the bullshit NGU gave me.(which was alot of bullshit) It was fun posting my thread & watching my rep go up. So it pushed me to post good threads to try to get that rep. I'm sure im not the only one who feels this way.
