There refers to a place or location.
Example: Look, fat people live over there.
There is also used with the verb "be" (is, am, are, was, were) to indicate the existence of something, or to mention something for the first time.
Example: Was there a reason to post that there?
Their is possessive.
Example: Their body composes of 90% fat.
They're is a contraction of they are. When using they're, always think, they are.
Example: They're really fat.
Now, time to use all three together.
Warning: This is for experts only!
Example: They're at their house, over there!
You might be wondering why I made this thread. And I do understand that this is not school, but seriously, it makes you look stupid if you repeatedly use the wrong there, their, or they're. Well I am not picking on anybody, but here are a few recent examples of improper use:

This has nothing to do with philosophy. You managed to put most of your apostrophes in many of the right places, but you did make a few mistakes. I changed their color to red for your convenience. I could not highlight the commas or periods that you missed, but I'm sure you can manage without them.
Edit:
Your user title says "Spamming to 1000 Posts" but you call Grammar Nazi no lifers?

It's not like I come to NGU and I'm going to be like
"Oh No NO psh this guy just didn't omg he just didn't capitalized his I" come on now and ive been a member since 2009 and well only reason why im spamming to 1000 is so i may get access to pvt premium but well since that went to shit and I guess they are changing the requirements for private premium guess I won't have to spam no more (or maybe ill still do so)
EDIT: I forgot and PhD in philosophy = teachers more specifically college teachers

I've been a member since 2009 and I didn't have to spam to get my 9k or whatever posts I have.
