(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU,

Just thought I'd show everyone the new rack I bought to put all my home computers/servers on. I finished setting it up Saturday night. Right now it seems like there's a lot of empty space, but I bought a large rack so that I'll have room for more computers and servers in the future.

You must login or register to view this content.

Here's a list of everything in the picture:
Bottom shelf, left: Opti-Ups interruptible power supply
Bottom shelf, right: IBM xSeries rack-mount server running CentOS 5 and Xen
Second shelf, left: Dell Dimension 4300 running Slackware 12
Second shelf, middle: Dell PowerEdge 400SC server running IPCop
Second shelf, right: Gaming computer that I built myself running Windows XP Pro
Third shelf, left: Linksys wireless router and standard router, both with 4 ethernet ports plus a WAN port
Third shelf, middle: D-Link gigabit router with 5 ports
Third shelf, right: Time Warner Cable cable modem (15Mbps down, 2Mbps up)
Fourth shelf: Printer, scanner, then my old HP laptop running Ubuntu 8.04

You can also see my Thinkpad T60 laptop on the right. It has Windows XP Pro on the hard drive but is currently running Kubuntu 8.04 from a 16GB compact flash card.

Comments/suggestions welcome!

I can fit one or two more towers on the second shelf and I have room for a few more rack-mount servers on the bottom depending on what sizes they are. I could also rearrange the third shelf if needed and raise the height of the shelf above it to fit more towers.
