I've recently and rather later than a lot of my atheistic counter-parts, thought long and hard about religion and the main question, does God exist. I've reviewed all points and after a while have come to the conclusion that God does not exist for the simple fact that there is no evidence to suggest that he/it does exist. A quote from the late great Christopher Hitchens states "A theory that can be proposed without evidence and be equally dismissed without evidence".

I could write a book at this stage with all reasons why I no longer believe in an all powerful, unquestionable dictator.. but that would take a while and it's 4am.

What's your thoughts on religion and do you think god exists?

I Believe that we are all god and consciousness But not the god that lives up in the clouds

I do believe that there is a God but at the same time I don't. I also believe that the afterlife is whatever the person dreams it to be. For example if the person does not believe in a afterlife then there won't be anything but if the person believes in a type of afterlife then the person will live in that afterlife.

This thread is pointless, a reason for people to argue. But I still feel the need to give my opinion since everyone else has already jumped on the bandwagon

I'll start of by saying, I don't think its fair to make someone question their beliefs. I think, if you're religious, fine! No problem. But don't try and shove your beliefs down somebody else's throat and try and make them think the same way you think. - Same goes for non believers, If you don't believe in it, fine! But stop trying to convince other people otherwise. It only calls for arguments and hatred.

Look at most wars throughout history. A lot of conflict is caused by Religion, Power & Greed. Which is ironic because every religion encourages peace and love for one another.

Now, as much as this is a major contradiction of my above statement, I'd still like to give my opinion on it, since this is a discussion. I'm not trying to make anybody think the way I think, I'm just sharing my thoughts.

I don't believe in Religion. The reason being is because I think it was a story made up by a couple of extremely intelligent Entrepreneurs 2000 odd years ago. Looking for some quick cash and decided to roll with Religion. When you think about it. Religion is the most successful business of all time. Making trillions.

Think of Christianity being Apple & Judaism as Microsoft. It's huge business with a massive market. They're simply looking for more "Customers".

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what you believe as long as you're a good person and enjoy life.

In my opinion, religion is completely irrelevant to my life. I find it completely idiotic and only used by those who seek to follow a non-existent "all-mighty" being. It's just plain stupid.

Agreed with you. Who would even state that Christianity is the "only faith" that is attacked? Muslims are attacked 24/7 too.
