I have tried playing the game from both the Drive and the Disc and I get the same problem. It might take 2 hours to shut off, or it might be when the first game starts. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

I have absolutely no clue how to do that. Is there like a beginners guide on how to do this stuff lol. I appreciate your help on this!

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

From there, select Rebuild Database.

and that won't remove my cfw?

No, it won't.

ok im at that screen and im still nervous that im going to lose a bunch of stuff. so i haven't gone any further

The only way that you can lose your CFW is by updating the firmware. All that this is doing is rebuilding the database, so you won't lose your firmware. Has this always happened, or is it a new issue? Have you messed with any settings in Rebug Toolbox, Debug Settings MultiMan ect. ? If so, depending on what it is, you might want to try reverting those changes.

is your PS3 over heating?

Not according to the readings. It's set to not go over 60 and it never reads hotter than 61

I swapped hard drives and did a complete reformat and reinstall Rebug. Still happens. As if the game play graphics are too much to process?
