Infamously-known world wide for his hacking abilities, console hacker GeoHot released an unauthorized code last week which allowed hackers to use illegal content on the PS3, tricking the console into thinking the software has been authorized by Sony.

Sony commented on the hacks earlier today:

We are aware of this, and are currently looking into it. We will fix the issues through network updates, but because this is a security issue, we are not able to provide you with any more details.

Hacking groups have responded to Sony's statement, telling the BBC it will not be possible:

The complete console is compromised - there is no way back. The only way to fix this is to issue new hardware. Sony will have to accept this.

umm... yeah
Geohot vs Sony. The epic battle where Geohot has the ability to sign homebrew who will win. It going to take a complete idiot to get this wrong...
Sony screwed unless they change the signature of all games to a new, more complex one they have no chance

I don't think geohot will be making any more exploits for the PS3 for a while now due to the legal papers on his website.
