[CONFIRMED] Black Ops Servers Not Being Shutdown

A lot of rumors have been swirling that the Black Ops servers will be shut down. Well thanks to Nickjcal of TitanReviews and N4G, and JD2020 we now know that is false. Lets take a look at the email conversation.

Fortunately, that was just a misunderstanding and a quote from one of our representatives was taken out of context and created a lot of confusion. We can assure you that the Call of Duty: Black Ops servers are not being shut down, and this is a false alarm. We are sorry for any inconvenience or unnecessary worries this may have caused, but as of now, there are absolutely no plans for the servers to be taken down.

I dug a little deeper into this and found a tweet from JD_2020 (Josh Olin, Community Manager of Black Ops). He to has confirmed that all this is a big misunderstanding.

I hate to admit it but, at least the money grubbers at IW didn't pull a stunt like this. The servers were always good for MW2 before I sold it...(WTF? Did I just praise Modern Warfail 2?! )
But shit like this makes me wanna get a refund for BO. I'll miss all the great new features added to multiplayer...But then again it's a hassle to just use multiplayer...

I'll still play BO though. Not gonna do anything hasty just yet.

They would never shut the servers down.. I mean, possibly all games will start charging for more than one account like EA Sports do, but more likely Sony could turn PSN into PSN+ only, meaning we would have to pay a subscription each year or month or whatever. IMO they would HAVE to integrate cross chat gaming if they was going to pull off a move like that.

K/D means absolutely nothing in call of duty since CoD 3.

You can sit in a corner and go 24/2 every game. Unbalanced killstreaks and lag completely ruin The better players K/D. If you played against ACTUAL players, not 9 year olds, you'd get your ass ****ed.

In CoD 3, everything happened client side. meaning everything that happened on your screen, happened to everyone else.
